We're hiring a Director of Integrated Marketing to own the member side of CAKE (www.cakemembers.com), lifecycle, content, events, and the product growth loops that turn new members into loyal ones.

What you'll own You'll own everything that happens from the moment someone comes to our site to the moment they renew, refer their friends, and can't imagine life without us.

The lifecycle strategy and systems that drive activation, shopping, upgrades, and retention The content and editorial voice that shapes what Members see in their feed every day Events and influencer programming as a driver of engagement and brand affinity Audience segmentation and member insight, you are the person in the building who understands our Member most deeply A Voice of Customer program giving us strong, always-on insights and feedback A high-value member (VIC) and ambassador program, identifying, nurturing, and activating our most engaged Members as connectors, hosts, and advocates for CAKE You'll lead a small team spanning integrated marketing, editorial, events, and influencer. Your north star is member engagement that converts, shopping, upgrades, referrals. You'll measure success in the metrics that define membership health: week-1 purchase rate, retention, and referral velocity.

What you'll influence You'll partner hand-in-hand with our Head of Product. In a membership business, the best engagement often lives inside the product itself, in-app onboarding, feed engagement, first-purchase activation, upgrade flows. You'll shape that work as much as any owned channel.

You'll also work peer-to-peer with our growth marketing lead, who owns acquisition. You won't own that OKR, but the best version of this role is someone who makes their work better, because you understand our Member deeply enough that your perspective shapes how CAKE shows up at the top of the funnel, even when it's not your budget. Together, you represent the full member journey.

You have to be AI curious We're building an AI-native organization. We envision a new way of working that frees brilliant people to be more thoughtful, creative, and intuitive, and that lets us deliver an ever-better experience to our Members. This is new ground for everyone, so you don't need to be an expert. But you do need the appetite to become one. You have to see reinventing how a best-in-class marketing team works as an opportunity that you want to attack and not a threat that you want to avoid.

What you bring

6-10 years of experience, with meaningful time (3+ years) inside a high-performing consumer subscription or membership business, Spotify, Duolingo, Peloton, Calm, ClassPass, Strava, Headspace, Rent the Runway, Birchbox, Stitch Fix, or similar. That's where you built your core operating system. A proven track record in lifecycle marketing, engagement, and retention. You think in funnels, cohorts, and Member moments. Experience operating in an app-first environment, with a strong understanding of in-app engagement, push notification marketing, and habit-forming product experiences Strong product intuition. You know that in subscription businesses, the best engagement often lives inside the product, and you know how to build for that. Genuine cultural fluency in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle as someone who actually lives it Experience leading and developing a team. You set high standards and bring people with you. The ability to write, think, and communicate with clarity and point of view, internally and in the work itself A builder's orientation. You want to shape something, not just manage something someone else already built.

You're currently a Director or Senior Manager ready to run the function, with proximity to the founders, real equity, a small team you can develop, and a product Members actually love.

Who you'll work with You'll report to Dave McLaughlin, co-founder and CEO, and partner closely with Estelle Palandjian, co-founder and brand champion. Your closest day-to-day collaborators in addition to the team you manage will be our Head of Product, Head of Brand Partnerships, and Growth Marketing Lead.
