The Challenge

Learvo is an AI-powered edtech startup on a mission to transform how college students learn and retain information. You'd be their first marketing analytics hire, directly supporting the founders in building the data-driven playbook that scales their user acquisition.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit all existing marketing channels (website, socials, email) and establish baseline KPI tracking in Google Analytics and a centralized dashboard

Define the core marketing metrics framework with the marketing team (CAC, LTV, conversion funnels, channel ROI)

Run 2-3 high-impact experiments (landing page A/B tests, email segment analysis) and document learnings

4

Build weekly/monthly reporting cadence that the founders actually use to make decisions

By 6 Months
1

Develop predictive models for student acquisition cost and lifetime value by channel using SQL + Python/R

2

Create segment analysis identifying which college demographics, majors, or use cases show highest engagement and retention

3

Design and execute 5+ marketing experiments with clear hypothesis, measurement plan, and statistical rigor

4

Build a self-serve analytics dashboard (Tableau/Power BI) so the marketing team can pull insights without needing you for every question

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

Total marketing spend divided by new students acquired, tracked by channel and cohort.

Conversion Rate by Funnel Stage

Percentage of visitors moving from awareness → signup → active user → retained user.

Retention & Engagement Rate

Weekly/monthly active users and feature usage frequency to correlate with acquisition quality.

Marketing ROI by Channel

Revenue/LTV generated per dollar spent across paid search, social, email, organic channels.

Experiment Velocity & Impact

Number of tests run monthly and average lift per test to track optimization speed.

Walk through a past project: data sources, metrics defined, experiments run, business impact

Technical assessment (optional)

SQL query or Python/R scripting exercise to validate core skills

Final conversation on expectations, equity terms, timeline to potential paid conversion, and role scope
