The Challenge
A major automotive distribution group is scaling fast across multiple brands and sites. They need a strategic marketing leader to drive digital transformation, modernize customer experience, and hit aggressive performance targets across a complex, geographically dispersed operation.
Your Mission
Audit existing marketing, digital, and e-commerce strategies across all brands; identify quick wins and performance gaps
Build alignment with leadership team on unified marketing strategy and KPI framework for the group
Launch data audit and identify 3-5 priority automation/AI initiatives with DSI for Q2 rollout
Establish weekly performance cadence and dashboard to track marketing ROI, lead pipeline, and commercial impact
Execute integrated e-commerce strategy across brands with measurable lift in conversion and AOV
Implement customer journey mapping and segmentation; deploy automated nurture campaigns
Scale data-driven personalization across digital touchpoints; measure incremental revenue impact
Build and align marketing team structure; establish centers of excellence for digital and performance marketing
KPIs You'll Own
Marketing ROI / ROAS
Track marketing spend efficiency and revenue attribution across all campaigns and channels.
E-commerce Conversion Rate & AOV
Monitor online sales performance, basket size, and customer acquisition cost trends.
Lead Volume & Quality Score
Measure inbound lead volume, MQL-to-SQL conversion, and sales team satisfaction scores.
Brand Awareness & NPS
Track brand lift across markets and customer satisfaction/loyalty metrics.
Team Engagement & Velocity
Monitor marketing team capacity utilization, campaign launch cycle time, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Is This Role For You?
- You've led marketing/digital teams at director level in multi-site, multi-brand environments (10+ years experience)
- You're fluent in data, automation, e-commerce, and can connect marketing activity to hard revenue outcomes
- You have automotive, distribution, or retail sector experience (not mandatory, but a real edge)
- You thrive in complex, matrixed organizations and enjoy hands-on execution alongside strategic thinking
- You're comfortable with French business culture and can operate bilingual (French/English preferred)
- You need 100% remote work or won't commit to 2 days/week Besançon + frequent travel
- You're a pure strategist uncomfortable managing 30+ person teams and budget accountability
- You lack hands-on digital marketing knowledge (data, e-commerce, martech) or treat it as someone else's problem
- You require equity, startup equity upside, or are looking for a stepping stone to a bigger title elsewhere
