The Challenge

AMD is positioning itself as the AI platform leader, and developers are central to that bet. You'll build and scale a global AI developer community from the ground up—turning Discord channels and open-source contributors into advocates who drive real platform adoption.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit current AMD AI developer community health across Discord, Discourse, and social platforms; establish baseline metrics for engagement, retention, and advocacy

Define scalable community strategy framework with clear pathways from contributor → advocate → leader, including governance models and engagement KPIs

Launch first cohort of AI Ambassador program with 20-30 early advocates; establish selection criteria, enablement resources, and recognition structure

Map key AI open-source communities and maintainers; establish relationships with 5-10 strategic ecosystem leaders to align on AMD contributions

By 6 Months

Grow active AMD AI developer community by 40%+ across all platforms; demonstrate 2x improvement in engagement rates and discussion quality

Build and operationalize global Ambassador program with 100+ active advocates; track amplification impact (content reach, advocacy engagement, community contributions)

Establish AMD as credible player in 3-5 major AI open-source ecosystems; measure through maintainer relationships, merged contributions, and community sentiment

Create and deploy regional developer growth playbooks for APAC, EMEA, and Americas; launch localized community initiatives with measurable activation targets per region

  • You're comfortable translating between engineering teams, business leadership, and developers—and building trust with all three

  • You think community marketing is just social media posting and announcements—this role requires strategic ecosystem thinking
  • You need remote flexibility; this is on-site San Jose with no negotiation on that
  • You're uncomfortable with hardware/infrastructure complexity or don't have deep respect for developer autonomy and open-source culture
