About the Role

We are looking for a creative, driven, and highly organized Marketing & Business Development Manager to lead marketing efforts across our growing portfolio of businesses in Tyler and East Texas.

Our businesses currently span legal services, commercial construction and development, real estate investment, and children's enrichment, with an additional consumer franchise concept currently in development.

This is not a position focused solely on social media.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our overall marketing efforts- from creating content and managing social media to developing community partnerships, coordinating events, managing email campaigns, working leads through our CRM, evaluating sponsorship opportunities, and finding new ways to generate business.

The right person will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor. You should be comfortable developing a marketing plan one day and attending a community event, creating a Reel, contacting a potential referral partner, or working through a list of leads the next.

Our goal is to build an internal marketing function that consistently increases awareness, strengthens our brands, develops community relationships, and ultimately generates measurable business.

Businesses You Will Support

Each business has a different audience and marketing strategy, so the ability to understand and market multiple brands simultaneously is important.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Management

  • Develop and maintain marketing plans for each business.
  • Create and manage an overall marketing calendar.
  • Identify the highest-value marketing opportunities for each company.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns from concept through execution.
  • Establish measurable goals and track results.
  • Regularly present marketing performance, opportunities, and recommendations to ownership.
  • Manage relationships with outside marketing vendors when necessary.

Social Media & Content Creation

  • Plan, create, schedule, and publish social media content across multiple brands.
  • Create engaging photos, graphics, videos, Reels, Stories, and other short-form content.
  • Write captions and marketing copy appropriate for each brand.
  • Maintain consistent branding and messaging.
  • Develop content around employees, customers, projects, events, educational topics, community involvement, and other opportunities.
  • Monitor social media performance and adjust strategy based on results.

Local & Community Marketing

  • Identify community events, organizations, schools, businesses, and groups where our brands should have a presence.
  • Develop and coordinate community outreach initiatives.
  • Identify speaking engagements, educational opportunities, networking events, CE programs, expos, and similar opportunities.
  • Coordinate participation in community events from planning through execution.
  • Maintain a calendar of relevant local opportunities.

Partnerships & Business Development

  • Identify potential referral and community partners for each business.
  • Proactively contact and develop relationships with potential partners.
  • Coordinate cross-promotions and collaborative marketing opportunities.
  • Maintain an organized database of referral and community relationships.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen existing referral relationships.
  • Regularly identify new opportunities for generating leads and revenue.

Potential partners may include Realtors, lenders, title companies, CPAs, financial professionals, schools, preschools, pediatric offices, family-oriented businesses, nonprofit organizations, local employers, and other businesses and organizations depending on the brand.

CRM & Lead Generation

  • Actively utilize our CRM and customer databases to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor and follow up with marketing-generated leads.
  • Develop lead-nurture and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to reconnect with former prospects and customers.
  • Help establish systems to track where leads originate and whether they convert.
  • Work with each business to improve follow-up processes.
  • Measure results and identify which marketing activities are actually generating business.

Email Marketing

  • Develop and manage email marketing campaigns.
  • Segment customer and prospect databases.
  • Create newsletters, promotional campaigns, educational campaigns, event communications, and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Develop automated email sequences where appropriate.
  • Track performance and continually improve campaigns.

Reputation Management

  • Manage Google Business Profiles and other important local listings.
  • Develop systems for consistently generating legitimate customer and client reviews.
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews.
  • Track review volume and ratings across businesses.
  • Monitor relevant local Facebook groups and online communities.
  • Participate appropriately in community conversations and identify opportunities to recommend or promote our businesses.

Sponsorships & Events

  • Identify and evaluate sponsorship opportunities.
  • Analyze sponsorships based on audience, cost, brand alignment, exposure, and expected return.
  • Present recommendations to ownership rather than simply forwarding sponsorship requests.
  • Coordinate approved sponsorships and ensure we receive all available benefits.
  • Plan and coordinate company-hosted events, community events, grand openings, educational programs, and promotional activities.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, outgoing, creative, organized, and comfortable taking ownership.

We are especially interested in someone who:

  • Has approximately 3+ years of marketing, business development, agency, communications, or related experience.
  • Has experience personally creating social media content.
  • Is comfortable creating short-form video and appearing behind or in front of the camera when appropriate.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is comfortable meeting new people and developing professional relationships.
  • Can independently identify opportunities rather than waiting to be assigned individual tasks.
  • Understands that successful marketing should ultimately contribute to business growth.
  • Can manage multiple brands, priorities, and deadlines at the same time.
  • Is comfortable using data and analytics to evaluate marketing performance.
  • Has experience with CRM and email marketing platforms or can quickly learn new systems.
  • Is comfortable attending community and networking events.
  • Has strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Business Profile, CRM platforms, email marketing software, basic video editing, and social media scheduling tools is preferred.

A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is helpful but not required. Demonstrated ability, initiative, creativity, and results are more important to us than a particular degree.

What Success Looks Like

This position will not be measured simply by how often we post on social media.

Success will include:

  • Consistent execution of marketing plans across all brands
  • Increased qualified leads and customer opportunities
  • Stronger referral and community partnerships
  • Growth in Google reviews and online reputation
  • Successful lead-nurture and re-engagement campaigns
  • Increased community presence
  • Well-executed events and sponsorships
  • Improved tracking of marketing sources and conversions
  • Identification of new revenue-generating opportunities
  • Measurable improvement in marketing ROI

The Person Who Will Thrive Here

You may be a great fit if you naturally see opportunities and act on them.

We want someone who notices that a local school is hosting an event and asks whether one of our businesses should participate; sees an opportunity for a partnership and makes the introduction; recognizes that old leads have not been contacted and develops a re-engagement campaign; or realizes that a successful project would make great content and goes out to capture it.

We don't want someone who needs to be told what to post every day.

We want someone who will learn our businesses, understand our customers, develop ideas, bring us recommendations, and then execute.

This is an opportunity to build and lead the internal marketing function for a growing group of East Texas businesses and have a direct impact on their growth.

Schedule

This is a full-time, primarily in-person position based in Tyler, Texas.

Normal business hours will generally apply, although occasional attendance at community events, networking events, grand openings, or other activities outside normal business hours will be part of the position.

Compensation

$55,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience

We are also open to developing a performance-based bonus structure tied to measurable marketing and business-development results.

To Apply

Please submit your résumé along with examples of marketing work you have personally created or managed.

Examples may include social media accounts, videos, graphics, campaigns, email marketing, events, partnership initiatives, or other marketing projects.

In your application, we would also like to know:

If you were responsible for marketing five different local businesses, how would you determine where to focus your time and which marketing efforts were actually working?

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Application Question(s):

  • How many years of professional marketing experience do you have?
  • Please provide links to social media accounts, campaigns, videos, graphics, email campaigns, or other marketing work that you personally created or managed.
  • This position involves both marketing and business development. Please give an example of a marketing initiative, partnership, event, or campaign you personally helped develop that produced leads, customers, revenue, or another measurable business result.
  • Imagine you are responsible for marketing five different local businesses with different customers. How would you decide where to spend your time and marketing budget?
  • This is a hands-on position that includes creating social content, attending community events, developing business relationships, working leads in a CRM, managing reviews, and executing campaigns-not simply managing outside vendors. Are you comfortable personally handling these responsibilities?
