Community Growth & Market Expansion LeadRemote, U.S. or Near-U.S. TimezoneAbout Wondrfly
Wondrfly is helping parents discover kids’ activities, classes, camps, and experiences, both online and in person.
We are an early-stage startup building a marketplace that connects families with great providers. Our goal is to make it easier for parents to find the right activities for their children, while helping activity providers get discovered by more families.
We are expanding from a local presence into a much larger market opportunity. We are looking for a strong, hands-on community and growth operator who can help us scale from local markets toward national expansion.
This is not a traditional marketing role. This is a leadership and execution role for someone who can help build the systems, team rhythms, and market playbooks that allow Wondrfly to grow market by market.
About the Role
We are looking for a Community Growth & Market Expansion Lead to help build and lead Wondrfly’s community growth engine.
You will be responsible for building Wondrfly’s presence in parent communities, creating repeatable local market launch playbooks, coordinating contributors across community, content, outreach, ambassadors, and provider communication, and helping the company grow from a local operation into a broader platform.
This person must be both strategic and hands-on. You should be comfortable helping shape the plan, leading execution, jumping into the work, solving problems quickly, and improving the system as we learn.
You will work closely with the founder and cross-functional team to help Wondrfly become a trusted brand for parents and providers across many local markets.
CAVEAT: We are an early-stage startup. If you are looking to make money quickly, please do not apply.
- If you want to join a superstar team that is incredibly smart and experienced while also being humble, kind & collaborative,
- If you want to build an amazing product from the ground up,
- If you want to learn and grow with this team,
- If you want to work hard and solve big problems,
- If you want to change the world,
Then, please read on.
Location & Work Hours
This is a remote role, but the person must be based in the United States or a near-U.S. timezone.
We are especially open to candidates in the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Central America, South America, and other locations with strong overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.
Because Wondrfly is focused on U.S. parents and providers, this person must be available for regular collaboration during U.S. business hours and must have strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Experience working with U.S. startups, U.S. consumers, U.S. local markets, or U.S.-based teams is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Own: Community Growth
- Build Wondrfly’s presence in parent communities across local markets.
- Engage with online and offline communities, especially parenting groups, local forums, schools, camps, enrichment communities, and family-focused networks.
- Help make Wondrfly visible, trusted, and useful to parents.
- Drive conversations, content, campaigns, and community initiatives that increase awareness and traffic.
- Represent Wondrfly’s voice in a way that is helpful, warm, credible, and parent-centered.
- Help us understand what messaging, content, and community activity resonates with parents in each market.
Market Expansion
- Help build and execute a repeatable playbook for launching Wondrfly in new towns, cities, and regions.
- Identify the channels, partnerships, content, ambassadors, and local tactics needed to grow each market.
- Help Wondrfly move from one local market to many markets without losing quality or consistency.
- Create systems that allow us to scale community and marketing activity across markets.
- Understand what needs to be local, what can be centralized, and what can be repeated.
- Help turn local market learnings into a scalable operating model.
Ambassador & U.S. Market Coordination
- Coordinate U.S.-based ambassadors, local contributors, and community partners.
- Give clear direction, manage follow-up, and ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Help ambassadors understand Wondrfly’s goals, brand voice, local market strategy, and weekly priorities.
- Review ambassador work for quality, tone, consistency, and community fit.
- Create ambassador workflows, templates, reporting formats, and feedback loops.
- Use local ambassador insights to improve Wondrfly’s community strategy by market.
The person in this role does not need to personally know every U.S. local market, but they must be able to learn quickly, apply sound judgment, and work effectively with U.S.-based ambassadors who bring local context and community insight.
Team Leadership
- Coordinate and lead contributors across community, content, social media, provider communications, ambassadors, and local outreach.
- Set priorities, assign work, manage execution, and help hold people accountable.
- Create a clear weekly operating rhythm for community and growth execution.
- Help team members move quickly while maintaining quality.
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, communication, and follow-through.
- Identify where the team is blocked and help move work forward.
Growth Operations
- Create repeatable processes, templates, SOPs, checklists, and reporting systems.
- Track what is working by market, channel, campaign, and audience.
- Use data and feedback to improve future campaigns and operations.
- Build scalable workflows for community posting, outreach, provider communication, ambassador management, email campaigns, and local launches.
- Help the company become more organized, more measurable, and more repeatable as we grow.
- Turn founder direction and team learnings into clear operating systems.
Brand, Content, and Communication
- Ensure Wondrfly’s brand voice is consistent across community, email, social, provider communication, ambassador activity, and local campaigns.
- Guide content that helps parents discover great activities and helps providers understand Wondrfly’s value.
- Collaborate with creative, product, technical, and marketing contributors to execute campaigns and improve the user experience.
- Manage community feedback, questions, and concerns with sound judgment.
- Help translate what we learn from parents and providers into better messaging, campaigns, and product direction.
- Support email communication and campaigns using Mailchimp or similar tools.
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful if Wondrfly becomes increasingly visible, trusted, and active in each market we enter.
Key outcomes may include:
- More parent traffic by market
- Stronger engagement in local parent communities
- More provider interest and activation
- More repeatable local launch playbooks
- Better ambassador execution and reporting
- Clearer team execution and accountability
- Stronger email, social, and community performance
- Better reporting on what is working and what is not
- Faster expansion into new towns, cities, and regions
- A scalable community growth system that does not depend only on the founder
This role is not measured by activity alone. Posts, emails, outreach, and campaigns matter, but the real goal is market growth, parent trust, provider visibility, and repeatable execution.
Who You Are
You are a strong community, growth, or marketing operations leader who can lead people, build systems, and execute under pressure.
You are likely a great fit if:
- You have experience building or managing communities.
- You have experience in marketing operations, growth operations, local marketing, field marketing, community-led growth, or market expansion.
- You have led people, contractors, ambassadors, creators, interns, or cross-functional contributors.
- You are highly organized and can manage many moving pieces at once.
- You are comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment.
- You do not wait for perfect instructions before taking action.
- You can turn ambiguity into a plan.
- You are calm under pressure and can keep a team focused when priorities shift.
- You understand how local communities build trust.
- You are comfortable being hands-on when needed.
- You can balance creativity with execution and measurement.
- You care about parents, kids, education, enrichment, local services, or community-building.
- You communicate clearly, directly, and professionally.
- You have high ownership and strong follow-through.
- You are comfortable working with U.S.-based teams, contributors, customers, or communities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a high-ownership community, growth, or marketing operations leader based in the U.S. or a near-U.S. timezone.
You may be based in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Central America, South America, or another location with strong U.S. business-hour overlap. What matters most is that you can communicate clearly, operate with urgency, understand U.S. consumer behavior, and help Wondrfly scale its community growth efforts across many local markets.
You do not need to have already led national expansion, but you should have the judgment, organization, leadership ability, and drive to help build the system that gets us there.
Ideal Experience
We would love to see experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Community-led growth
- Marketplace growth
- Local market expansion
- Parenting, kids, education, camps, classes, childcare, or enrichment

- Growth operations
- Provider, creator, or small business marketing

Experience in the parenting or kids’ activity space is a major plus, but not required if you have strong community, growth, operations, and leadership experience.

What Makes This Role Different
This is not a role for someone who only wants to manage social media. This is also not a role for someone who only wants to think strategically without doing the work.
We need someone who can help build the growth machine while helping run it.
You should be excited by the challenge of taking something that works locally and turning it into a repeatable operating model across many markets.
This role is best for someone who wants to step into a bigger leadership opportunity earlier than they might elsewhere, with direct exposure to the founder and meaningful ownership of an important growth function.
Early Priorities
In your first phase, you will help us:
- Understand what is working in our current local markets.
- Create a repeatable community growth and market launch playbook.
- Organize the team’s weekly execution rhythm.
- Define the right metrics and reporting structure.
- Improve how we show up in parent communities.
- Strengthen provider and parent communication.
- Build ambassador workflows and reporting systems.
- Create a 30-day market launch plan for one priority market.
- Build the foundation for launching many more markets.
Compensation
Compensation for the role is $35,000 USD.
Wondrfly is an early-stage startup, and this role is best suited for someone who is excited by the opportunity to help build something meaningful from the ground up.
For the right person, there may be an opportunity to receive equity in the company, commensurate with experience, performance, contribution, and long-term impact.
We are looking for someone who wants more than a traditional job. This is an opportunity to take ownership of an important growth function, help build the operating model for market expansion, and grow with the company as Wondrfly grows.
Why Join Wondrfly
This is a chance to help build something meaningful from the ground up.
You will have the opportunity to shape the community growth function, build the expansion playbook, lead contributors, coordinate ambassadors, and help turn Wondrfly into a much larger platform.
If you want a comfortable, fully-formed role with perfect structure, this is probably not the right fit.
If you want to build, lead, solve hard problems, move fast, and help create something that can grow across many markets, we would love to hear from you.

About Growth Marketing roles
Growth marketers drive user acquisition, activation, and retention through data-driven experimentation. They sit at the intersection of product, data, and marketing — running A/B tests, building funnels, and scaling what works.
