The Challenge

Clorox is hunting for a Marketing Director to own Mexico's brand strategy and demand creation across their portfolio. You'll lead multifunctional teams, manage substantial P&L, and translate regional strategy into local execution that drives real growth.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit current demand creation plans and advertising spend efficiency; identify quick wins and gaps in Mexico's execution

Establish relationships with regional leadership and key stakeholders; align on Mexico Studio priorities for the year

3

Define Q1-Q2 demand creation roadmap (advertising, promotions, commercial innovation) with clear budget allocation and KPIs

4

Conduct team assessment and create coaching/development plan for Mexican marketing functional team

By 6 Months
1

Launch and measure first wave of localized demand creation campaigns; track against regional benchmarks and revenue impact

Integrate Mexico's brand plans into S&OP process; ensure cross-functional alignment on inventory, supply, and promotional calendar

3

Deliver mid-year P&L review with variance analysis; adjust budget allocation based on performance data and market conditions

4

Build repeatable monthly brand health tracking dashboard; establish baseline metrics for brand equity, awareness, and preference

KPIs You'll Own

Revenue/Sales Growth by Category

Track incremental revenue driven by demand creation initiatives against prior year baseline and regional targets.

Advertising ROI & Spend Efficiency

Measure cost per incremental unit sold and marketing-driven volume lift; optimize media mix quarterly.

Brand Health Metrics

Monitor brand awareness, consideration, preference, and loyalty; ensure advertising investments drive perception shifts.

Budget Variance & P&L Performance

Maintain quarterly budget targets; track actuals vs. forecast with monthly variance analysis and reforecasting.

Team Engagement & Capability

Assess marketing team development through quarterly 1:1 feedback, skill assessments, and retention of key talent.

  • You've spent 8+ years in marketing roles within FMCG multinational companies with proven track record of demand creation and brand management
  • You're comfortable owning P&L, managing advertising budgets, and translating strategy into flawless local execution
  • You speak advanced English and Spanish fluently; you navigate complex matrix organizations and multifunctional teams with ease
  • You have multi-country or multi-category experience and can customize regional strategy for local market nuances
  • You thrive on data-driven decision making and can balance big-picture vision with tactical execution rigor

  • You lack hands-on FMCG or B2C marketing experience; startups and niche industries are a hard pivot from this role
  • You're not fluent in English or Spanish; this role requires seamless communication across Mexico and regional teams
