The Challenge

Red Ventures Growth and Transformation partners with major financial institutions to build digital products and marketing tech that drive customer acquisition and retention. You'll own the technical strategy and lead multiple engineering squads embedded in a client's ecosystem, translating business objectives into engineering roadmaps that move the needle on revenue and risk.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit current engineering org structure, squad topology, and delivery velocity—identify gaps in architecture, team composition, and decision-making frameworks

2

Build relationships with client technical leadership, security, and platform teams; establish weekly sync cadence and define escalation protocols

3

Define and socialize technical roadmap for next 2 quarters aligned to business priorities (acquisition, retention, reliability); secure stakeholder buy-in

4

Assess technology debt, platform risks, and scalability constraints; create prioritized backlog with business impact metrics

By 6 Months
1

Scale engineering organization: hire and onboard engineering managers and senior ICs; implement performance management and career development frameworks

2

Launch 2-3 major initiatives that measurably improve acquisition, retention, or operational efficiency; track ROI via KPIs

3

Establish platform and data strategy: finalize build-vs-buy decisions for key systems, guide vendor relationships (Adobe, Salesforce), and optimize customer data flows

4

Implement emerging engineering capabilities (AI-assisted development, intelligent QA, observability automation) with clear adoption metrics and business ROI

KPIs You'll Own

Engineering Velocity (Story Points / Sprint)

Track delivery throughput and consistency across squads to measure organizational health and roadmap execution

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) & Retention Rate

Connect engineering investment directly to business outcomes—measure how platform improvements drive measurable acquisition and retention gains

Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) & Incident Rate

Monitor platform reliability and system health; balance feature velocity against stability and risk reduction

Time to Market (Feature Cycle Time)

Measure end-to-end delivery cycle from concept to production; optimize for speed without sacrificing quality

Technical Debt Reduction Index

Track resolution of high-impact technical debt and platform constraints that constrain scalability or reliability

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You've led multi-team engineering organizations (8+ engineers) in high-stakes, regulated environments and can translate business outcomes into technical roadmaps
  • You thrive at the intersection of engineering excellence, client relationships, and business metrics—comfort with both architecture and P&L impact
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity in client partnerships: navigating competing priorities, managing vendor relationships, and operating as the technical voice in executive meetings
  • You're energized by emerging tech adoption (AI-assisted workflows, intelligent observability) and know how to measure ROI, not hype
  • You want deep, multi-quarter partnerships with major financial institutions—not transactional consulting work
Won't Work If
  • You need visa sponsorship or are on H1-B, F-1, OPT, STEM-OPT, or TN visa (not eligible)
  • You're looking for fully remote or want to avoid hybrid in-office schedules (Tuesday–Thursday required)
  • You prefer IC individual contributor roles or don't want to manage managers and scale organizations
  • You're uncomfortable with regulated financial-services complexity or need quick wins over multi-quarter, strategic initiatives
