The Challenge

Inflection AI is building human-centered AI agents that earn trust. As their Senior Data Analyst, you'll architect the analytical backbone that transforms Pi from transactional to relational-predicting churn, identifying aha moments, and connecting acquisition to lifetime value.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Design and implement the core user behavior tracking schema and ensure data quality across all product events

2

Build initial predictive models for retention and churn risk to enable proactive product interventions

3

Establish attribution pipeline connecting acquisition channels (AppsFlyer) to in-product behavioral outcomes

4

Deliver first cohort analysis identifying which user segments activate fastest and retain longest

By 6 Months
1

Deploy production predictive models forecasting engagement trajectories and identify leading indicators of long-term success

2

Design and analyze 8-10 high-impact A/B tests, establishing statistical rigor for feature launch decisions

3

Build comprehensive audience segmentation framework mapping discovery→adoption→value realization across user personas

4

Create automated dashboards and reporting infrastructure enabling Product and Growth teams to make data-driven decisions independently

KPIs You'll Own

Churn Prediction Accuracy

Measure model precision in identifying users at risk of churn 30+ days before it happens.

Retention Cohort Analysis

Track Day 1, Day 7, Day 30 retention by acquisition source and user segment.

Attribution Consistency Score

Validate that AppsFlyer and PostHog data align on user source-to-behavior mapping.

A/B Test Time-to-Significance

Measure speed and reliability of experiment design and analysis for product decisions.

Engagement Trajectory Prediction

Forecast 90-day engagement patterns for new cohorts with directional accuracy.

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You've built predictive retention or churn models in production and shipped them end-to-end
  • You're fluent in SQL, Python, and statistical inference-comfortable building feature engineering pipelines yourself
  • You've designed and analyzed A/B tests at scale and can explain when p-values matter and when they don't
  • You think like a growth hacker but with rigor-you want to find signals early, move fast, and measure everything
  • You thrive in ambiguity: user-facing AI is new territory, and Inflection needs someone who builds frameworks, not just dashboards
Won't Work If
  • You're primarily a reporting/dashboard builder-this role demands predictive modeling and statistical rigor
  • You need flexibility on location-this is on-site Palo Alto, full-stop
  • You're uncomfortable owning the full analytical lifecycle: schema, quality, feature eng, models, delivery. You want to hand off work.
  • You haven't shipped real predictive models or A/B tests to production-theoretical knowledge isn't enough

Interview Process

1

Screening call

Technical depth validation: past retention/churn models, A/B test design, SQL/Python fluency

2

Case study or take-home

Analyze anonymized user data-predict retention, identify leading indicators, propose next experiments

3

Technical deep dive

Whiteboard predictive modeling approach, discuss feature engineering choices, statistical assumptions

4

Stakeholder conversation

Meet Head of Data Analytics and Product lead-discuss how you'd partner on actual growth problems

5

Final offer conversation

Clarify role scope, team dynamics, first 90-day expectations
