The Challenge
Happy Hospitality runs three Instagram-worthy restaurant concepts (Happy Camper, Homeslice, Paradise Park) across three cities with explosive growth. You'll own social strategy and content creation for a brand that's genuinely built for the 'gram—helping them scale digital presence and drive foot traffic.
Your Mission
Ship 30+ pieces of social content (Reels, Stories, Posts) across Instagram/TikTok with 10%+ engagement rate
Map influencer landscape for Chicago market and execute first 3 partnerships/collaborations
Support 4+ in-restaurant activations/events with full creative execution (assets, on-site execution, community management)
Audit current social strategy, identify 3 growth opportunities, and present recommendations to Brand Manager
Grow social followers by 25%+ (baseline from month 1) through consistent content and engagement strategy
Own end-to-end execution of 2+ major campaign launches (merchandise collab, seasonal promotion, event series)
Build reusable content systems: templates, posting calendar, asset library to scale across three locations
Develop merchandise collaboration strategy with 2-3 local artists/creators and track resulting engagement/sales lift
KPIs You'll Own
Social Engagement Rate
Track likes, comments, shares, saves as % of followers across Instagram/TikTok—target 8-12% minimum.
Content Output Velocity
Ship 7-10 pieces of content per week (Reels, Stories, Posts, carousel)—measure consistency and quality.
Event Activation ROI
Track foot traffic, customer acquisition cost, and social mentions from each event/activation you support.
Influencer Campaign Performance
Measure reach, engagement, and conversions from each influencer partnership against negotiated benchmarks.

- You have actual experience creating content (personal brand, class projects, previous gigs) or a strong portfolio of ideas
- You thrive in fast-paced, in-person team environments and can show up 2-3 days/week in downtown Chicago
- You're excited about hospitality/food & beverage and see yourself working in this space long-term
- You're proactive, idea-driven, and can take ambiguous direction and run with it
- You need fully remote work or can't commit to 2-3 on-site days/week in Chicago
- You're under 21 (legal requirement due to alcohol-related events)
- You view social media as a chore rather than a genuine interest and passion
- You need a high salary ($50K+) or equity—this is an unpaid-to-modestly-paid internship
Interview Process
