The Challenge

EarnIn is a $1B+ earned wage access platform backed by A16Z and Ribbit Capital, serving paycheck-to-paycheck workers. You'll own the analytics strategy that drives acquisition, activation, and retention for millions of users across paid, owned, and product channels.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Assess current analytics stack, identify gaps in MMM/causal inference capabilities, and build roadmap for AI-driven automation

2

Establish marketing efficiency baseline (CAC, LTV, payback period) across all channels and identify top 3 optimization opportunities

3

Hire and onboard 2-3 senior analysts; define team OKRs and first sprint of high-impact analyses

4

Partner with CMO to define what success looks like: agree on 5 key metrics to move and measurement approach

By 6 Months
1

Launch MMM 2.0 or upgraded causal inference framework; reduce time-to-insight on channel ROI by 50%+

2

Improve CAC/LTV ratio by 15-20% through insights-driven optimizations to acquisition funnels and lifecycle campaigns

3

Build and deploy 3-4 AI-powered automation workflows (e.g., weekly anomaly detection, daily performance summaries, monthly insight generation)

4

Grow analytics team to 4-5 people; establish team as trusted strategic partner to Product and Growth leadership

KPIs You'll Own

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

Drive down CAC through better measurement and channel optimization across paid and owned channels.

Lifetime Value (LTV)

Increase LTV through retention and engagement insights; track by cohort and channel.

Marketing Efficiency Ratio (LTV:CAC)

Target 3:1 or better; primary measure of marketing ROI and growth sustainability.

Time-to-Insight

Reduce turnaround on strategic analyses from days to hours via AI automation and self-service dashboards.

Activation & Retention Rate

Measure % of new users who complete key onboarding steps and return after 30/60/90 days.

Channel Attribution Accuracy

Confidence in multi-touch attribution model; compare predicted vs. actual incrementality from MMM tests.

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You've led analytics teams at growth-stage FinTech, SaaS, or consumer apps and know how to scale from 2-3 to 5+ people
  • You're comfortable moving between 30,000-foot strategy (MMM, brand lift, channel mix) and 30-second deep dives (funnel optimization, cohort analysis)
  • You've shipped MMM, incrementality testing, or causal inference work and can explain trade-offs to non-technical execs
  • You're excited about AI/automation-not as buzzwords, but as tools to replace manual weekly reporting and unblock faster decision-making
  • You've optimized CAC/LTV in a consumer or B2C product business and can connect analytics insights to real business impact
Won't Work If
  • You're purely hands-on and uncomfortable hiring/managing/developing analysts or defining strategic direction
  • You need full remote or flexible office days; this role requires 2 days/week in Mountain View
  • You view analytics as a cost center (reporting) rather than a growth lever; EarnIn needs a partner who can move metrics
