Accountabilities
Coordinate the social media content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube, ensuring content is timely, accurate, on-brand, and aligned with campaign priorities.
Write and adapt social media copy for different platforms, applying appropriate brand voice, formats, cultural references, and audience considerations.
Monitor social, cultural, and platform trends, including trending sounds, formats, conversations, and emerging opportunities, and develop timely, brand-safe reactive content.
Generate and pitch creative concepts designed to increase organic reach, engagement, shareability, and community participation.
Shoot and edit short-form video content for TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and behind-the-scenes content using mobile or camera equipment.
Create static and video assets using Canva, CapCut, and comparable creative tools, preparing content for publishing or design-team refinement.
Apply strong knowledge of social platforms, algorithms, native formats, and best practices to recommend effective approaches for each channel.
Plan content around campaigns, key dates, cultural moments, and product initiatives to maintain a proactive and well-organized publishing schedule.
Tailor content to audiences across African markets and diaspora communities, ensuring messaging and cultural references feel relevant and authentic.
Prepare clear creative and design briefs, including creative direction, captions, on-creative copy, required formats, and delivery expectations.
Manage campaign and always-on content workflows, including timelines, trackers, approval processes, asset organization, and delivery coordination.
Coordinate with Marketing, Design, Compliance, Legal, and country teams to ensure content receives the appropriate reviews and approvals.
Use AI tools responsibly to support ideation, copy development, creative concepts, and production efficiency while following applicable guidelines.
Use social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Later for scheduling, publishing, social listening, and reporting.
Track key social performance indicators, including reach, engagement, follower growth, and video views, and contribute to weekly and monthly reporting.
Support digital competitions, influencer initiatives, partnership content, product launches, and broader marketing campaigns.
Stay informed about new social platform features, emerging creative tools, and developments within the fintech and remittance sectors, sharing relevant insights with the wider team.
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Degree, diploma, or certificate in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.
2-3 years of hands-on experience in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or a related role, either in-house or within an agency environment.
Proven experience managing brand presence across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and LinkedIn.
Strong understanding of African audiences and online behavior, particularly across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and wider diaspora communities.
Demonstrated hands-on videography experience, including shooting and editing short-form content using a smartphone or camera.
Experience using CapCut or similar video-editing tools, supported by examples or a portfolio of relevant work.
Confident working with Canva for static and video content creation.
Working knowledge of social media management and scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Later.
Familiarity with AI-powered content and creative tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or AI-enabled editing features.
Basic understanding of social media analytics, reporting, and performance metrics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational, planning, project management, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
A creative, curious, and proactive mindset with a genuine passion for videography, storytelling, social media, and internet culture.
Ability to identify trends quickly and translate them into relevant, engaging, and shareable content.
Comfortable learning new platforms, formats, technologies, and creative tools in a rapidly changing environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Analytical and commercially aware, with the ability to use data and audience insights to improve content decisions.
Adaptable, calm under pressure, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in fintech or financial services is advantageous but not essential.
