What you'll do

High-intent acquisition is the job. If you can run paid search and social, test with discipline, and keep a close eye on what happens after the click, this role has real work for you.

What the role really is

You’ll run paid campaigns across search and social, then build a testing program that helps the team learn what brings in better audiences and leads. This is a hands-on role, with the daily execution and budget pacing to match.

What you'll do

  • Build, launch, and manage campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and paid social platforms.
  • Coordinate search and social strategy with the SEM & Paid Marketing Manager.
  • Test ad creative, copy, and landing pages to find what improves performance.
  • Work with Data Science, UX, Content, Partner, and Product teams on attribution, lead quality, and the site experience.
  • Use offline conversion data to monitor automated bidding strategies.
  • Keep daily and weekly budgets on pace.

What they want

  • At least three years of hands-on performance marketing experience across paid search and paid social.
  • Experience in affiliate marketing.
  • Familiarity with Google Ads, paid social platforms, marketing automation, GA4, and multi-touch attribution.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, plus familiarity with analytics tools such as Looker Studio.
  • Experience with UX or landing page optimization.
  • Basic design or copywriting skills for quick ad tests.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Careful organization, sound prioritization, and the ability to think beyond campaign metrics.
  • Interest in U.S. News’s work providing trusted consumer advice.

Why it's interesting

You’ll work across multiple U.S. News verticals and connect search, social, creative testing, and landing page optimization. The role also puts you in the middle of questions about attribution and lead quality, where campaign performance meets business impact.
