Scalero is a lifecycle marketing studio helping fast-growing companies execute and scale their email, push, and CRM programs. We work with companies like Notion, Figma, and Carnival Cruise Lines to build high-performing lifecycle systems across design, development, and data.
We focus narrowly on lifecycle marketing, and we do it well. That focus has allowed us to build deep expertise and long-term client relationships.
We’re now exploring expanding into paid media as a natural extension of lifecycle marketing.
Summary
We’re hiring a Head of Paid Media (0→1) to build and lead this new practice at Scalero.
This is not a traditional “Director” role. You will be responsible for defining, selling, and delivering paid media services from the ground up. You’ll start hands-on, working directly with clients and campaigns, and over time build a team if the practice proves successful.
This role is ideal for someone who wants ownership, is comfortable with ambiguity, and has the confidence to build something new inside an existing client base.
What you’ll do
- Build the paid media practice
- Define Scalero’s paid media offering (services, pricing, positioning)
- Establish initial processes, reporting, and operating model
- Identify how paid media integrates with lifecycle marketing
- Drive revenue within existing clients
Partner with account leads to identify paid media opportunities Pitch and expand into existing client relationships Help clients understand how paid + lifecycle work together to improve outcomes
- Execute hands-on (early stage)
- Set up and manage campaigns across platforms (Meta, Google, etc.)
- Own performance, reporting, and optimization
- Deliver high-quality execution without a large team
- Collaborate cross-functionally
- Work closely with lifecycle teams (email, data, creative)
- Translate paid media insights into broader marketing strategy
- Help connect acquisition and retention efforts
Build the team (if successful)
Hire and manage paid media specialists Develop scalable processes and playbooks Transition from operator to leader as the practice grows
What we’re looking for
4+ years of experience in paid media (agency or in-house) Proven ability to manage and optimize campaigns across major platforms Experience selling or expanding services within existing accounts Strong understanding of performance marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS) Comfortable working hands-on and independently in early stages Ability to operate without defined structure and build systems from scratch Strong communication skills and client presence

Experience working alongside lifecycle marketing teams Experience building or scaling a new service line or team
Why this role matters
This is a new direction for Scalero. We believe many of our clients already invest heavily in paid media, and that integrating paid with lifecycle marketing can unlock meaningful improvements in performance. You will be responsible for testing that hypothesis and, if successful, building a new revenue stream for the company.
