What you'll do
Paid social at Gusto means owning the spend, the tests, and the call on what earns more budget. If you can turn messy attribution into clear decisions, this job has real room to shape how acquisition works.
What the role really is
You’ll lead paid social and new channel tests inside Gusto’s Demand Generation team. The work is hands-on: build campaigns, set the testing agenda, manage large budgets, and make a case for the channel’s impact on pipeline and revenue.
What you'll do
- Run full-funnel campaigns across Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit, Quora, and TikTok.
- Pace and forecast budgets, track spend against plan, and explain results when attribution is imperfect.
- Shape measurement and budget allocation with the broader marketing team.
- Set creative tests, work with studios and agencies, and turn performance data into a learning roadmap.
- Test channels and formats such as Google Demand Generation campaigns and ChatGPT ads. Define success upfront, then decide whether to scale or stop.
- Use AI tools regularly for briefs, copy variants, audience research, analysis, and reusable workflows.
- Partner with Web Marketing on landing pages and conversion, and with Brand and Influencer on turning strong organic content into paid campaigns.
- Work with Engineering on pixels, tracking issues, and implementation QA.
- Coordinate with Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, Communications, and Web to connect paid campaigns with larger marketing efforts.
What they want
- 7+ years in performance marketing at a B2B SaaS company, performance marketing agency, or high-growth consumer organization.
- Deep paid social experience, including hands-on campaign execution across at least two major platforms.
- Significant budget responsibility and evidence of measurable pipeline impact.
- Strong testing judgment: know the difference between a useful learning and a winning result, then turn data into creative direction.
- Regular, practical use of AI tools for briefs, copy, and analysis, with experience bringing AI-driven efficiencies to a team.
- Clear thinking about attribution and the ability to explain paid social’s contribution to business outcomes.
- A strong cross-functional partner who can turn integrated briefs into channel plans and advocate for what paid social needs.
Why it's interesting
You get ownership of both a core acquisition channel and experiments beyond it. The job also puts creative testing, measurement, and AI workflows in the same seat, with a direct line to pipeline and revenue goals.
