Updated November 7, 2026. A documentation-based buying comparison, not a tested ranking.
Commission disclosure: GrowthTalent earns a commission from purchases through the sponsored Smartlead link below. This creates a financial conflict in a comparison involving Smartlead. We have not tested deliverability, setup speed, or campaign results. No other vendor link on this page is an active GrowthTalent affiliate link.
Before moving away from lemlist, write down what is failing: a channel requirement, the cost unit, data quality, operational control, or relationship management. Those are different problems. A less expensive sender can be the wrong replacement if the team then needs a second system to recover an essential workflow.
Use the switching reasons below to create a shortlist. The fit judgments are editorial recommendations for evaluation; the cited plan statements are vendor evidence. Nothing here establishes that one vendor is easier, faster, or more accurate.
First establish what you are replacing
lemlist's live page now presents an Email allowance of 50,000 emails per month with unlimited users and senders. Multichannel lists five senders per user and additional channels. Data appears as a separate add-on. This is not a sound place to reuse an older seat-price comparison. lemlist pricing: The all-in-one platform for precise outbound at any scale
Create an inventory with four columns: function used, monthly volume, business owner, and acceptable replacement. Include inactive workflows that still contain suppression or history. Ask reps which functions they would miss, but verify the answer against actual records before expanding the budget.
The right baseline is the total cost of maintaining required behavior. Add exported data, mailboxes, domain management, CRM ownership, migration, and the time spent resolving exceptions. A lower subscription price can coexist with a higher operating cost.
Switching because you mainly need email sequencing
Investigate Smartlead and Instantly Outreach. Their published allowances provide concrete contact and send caps to compare with your workload. Smartlead Base lists $39/month, 2,000 contacts and 6,000 sends; its verified-email component is shown as an add-on. Instantly Growth Outreach displays $47/month, 1,000 uploaded contacts and 5,000 monthly emails. These are dollar-symbol monthly displays; the extracted pages do not expressly identify a currency code. Smartlead - Pricing Pricing - Plans for Outreach, Leads, and CRM | Instantly
This is a narrow shortlist for an email-oriented requirement, not proof of feature equivalence. Build a table of the exact behaviors your operation needs: reply ownership, campaign pause rules, suppression import, client separation, and history export. Mark a requirement "unknown" until the chosen plan's documentation or quote confirms it.
Do not turn "unlimited" mailbox language into an unlimited-contact or unlimited-send claim. Compare the meter that constrains your own workload. The same number of monthly emails can represent very different numbers of people when sequence length differs.
If Smartlead survives that process, the commercial link is Smartlead (sponsored link). Its presence is not a recommendation to migrate.
Switching because the price unit no longer fits
A team with many occasional users should calculate a seat-based scenario differently from a team with a small number of operators handling large volumes. Start with the required number of users, then model contacts, messages, data, and support independently.
The lemlist page renders $69 and $55 together for Email, and $109 and $87 for Multichannel beside a yearly-saving label. We verified the displayed numbers and units, but not the selector state sufficiently to publish a binding cadence-to-price mapping. Ask for a dated quote rather than assuming the lower number is available month to month. lemlist pricing: The all-in-one platform for precise outbound at any scale
Do not assume an entry plan is a useful price comparison when your current database exceeds its contact cap. Price the smallest plan that satisfies all hard requirements. A cheap plan with a mandatory add-on is still a combined purchase.
For migration economics, use:
payback months = one-time migration cost / monthly operating savings
Hypothetically, $1,200 of migration work and $100 of monthly savings imply a 12-month payback. If additional operator work costs $75/month, net savings fall to $25 and payback becomes 48 months. These are invented planning values. They show why a subscription-only calculation can be misleading.
Switching because data discovery and enrichment are the bottleneck
Investigate Apollo for combined discovery and engagement, or a separate enrichment layer if your sender is otherwise adequate. Apollo's official site describes sales engagement alongside data. FullEnrich describes aggregated contact enrichment; Clay describes waterfalls and data workflows. These establish product roles, not comparative data quality. Apollo.io Pricing Plans | Sales Intelligence Platform Pricing API Overview - FullEnrich API Documentation Clay Waterfall: maximize your coverage of contact info | Clay.com
Replacing the sequencer may be unnecessary if your real issue is incomplete or mismatched records. Isolate the failure with a small authorized sample: known person, known employer, missing field, desired verification state. Track accepted records rather than just returned records. Keep the same acceptance policy across candidates.
Instantly's Growth Credits is listed separately from Outreach at $47/month for 1,500 credits. Do not treat an Outreach subscription as a bundled data allowance. Pricing - Plans for Outreach, Leads, and CRM | Instantly
Apollo's standard numerical plan prices were not exposed in the consulted response. That prevents a reliable standard-price ranking, but does not prevent editorial inclusion. Require the chosen plan's data, export, API, and engagement allowances in writing before calculating a combined replacement budget. Apollo.io Pricing Plans | Sales Intelligence Platform Pricing
Switching because you need more channels
Begin with a channel-by-channel requirements sheet. lemlist explicitly lists LinkedIn and SMS automation under Multichannel, with WhatsApp as an add-on. That is a reason to verify the full replacement carefully before moving to an email-oriented shortlist. lemlist pricing: The all-in-one platform for precise outbound at any scale
For each required channel, document who authorizes actions, where replies are owned, what stops future steps, and where suppression lives. Distinguish a native step from a reminder telling a rep to act elsewhere. Distinguish an integration being available from it being included in the selected plan.
This research does not establish a like-for-like multichannel replacement among the alternatives above. Treat channel parity as an open requirement, not a hidden assumption. Keeping the current platform while repairing one deficient component can be a valid outcome.
Switching because you need workflow control
Evaluate orchestration separately from sending. n8n, Zapier and Cargo have documented workflow roles, but adding orchestration does not itself replace campaign management. n8n Plans and Pricing - n8n.io How is task usage measured in Zapier? Go-to-Market Infrastructure for Coding Agents | Cargo
Draw the lifecycle from lead intake to owned record, enrichment proposal, human decision, and reporting. Identify where data can become inconsistent. Then decide whether a dedicated workflow layer solves that specific problem. Every additional system also adds credentials, logs, failure states, and maintenance.
A useful workflow project has a bounded result: for example, "propose missing fields without overwriting rep corrections." A vague project to make outbound "AI-powered" is difficult to price or validate. Our enrichment workflow ends at controlled CRM changes, with no sending automation.
Switching because relationship history is fragmented
Separate CRM requirements from sequencing requirements. If the central problem is record ownership, duplicate contacts, or missing interaction context, put the authoritative record model ahead of sender selection. A new sequencer cannot decide which of two conflicting account owners is correct.
For a broader AI-led sales-motion project, Monaco presents usage-funded GTM agents. Its upfront model makes it a different evaluation from replacing one sender. Pricing | Monaco
Do not migrate every function merely because one vendor offers it. Decide what belongs in the system of record, what is a temporary proposal, and what should remain an external event. This prevents a broad replacement project from obscuring the original reason for switching.

Migration checklist: preserve state before moving records
- Freeze the requirements. Record the specific reason for leaving, acceptance criteria, rollback owner, and a spending ceiling. Do not add unrelated CRM reconstruction to a sender migration without revising scope.
- Export a controlled sample. Include stable IDs, ownership, timestamps, custom fields, campaign membership, and permitted history. Confirm the target can preserve the relationships you need.
- Move suppression first. Include opt-outs, prohibited accounts, existing-customer exclusions where applicable, and internal do-not-contact rules. Verify these with synthetic records before enabling any operational use.
- Classify active state. Identify people waiting for a next step, people who replied, paused campaigns, and completed sequences. A contact export alone does not preserve sequence state.
- Map identity and ownership. Assign the system of record and merge rules. Do not use a bulk import to overwrite recent rep corrections.
- Reconcile totals and samples. Compare eligible contacts, suppressions, owners, and historical events. Explain every discrepancy before increasing scope.
- Avoid overlapping live operation. Establish one authoritative owner for each campaign and record. Parallel systems should not independently act on the same person.
- Document rollback. Preserve previous values and batch IDs. Roll back only changes attributable to the migration, leaving later legitimate edits intact.
- Confirm exit and renewal. Verify cancellation dates, required exports, retention, and responsibility for old credentials. Keep an audit record without retaining unnecessary contact data.
How to make the final choice
Choose a replacement only after it passes hard requirements, then compare fully loaded cost. Use an authorized pilot to evaluate the actual workflow and record the method. This article supplies a documentation-based shortlist; it supplies no inbox-placement or usability verdict.
Return to the tools hub, compare n8n and Zapier, or review dated official offers. If pricing alone is driving the move, first calculate whether the expected savings repay migration within the period you are willing to commit. The growth outbound role guide describes the job.
