About Marie Delaney

As Director of the Learning Harbour, I am an educational consultant, teacher, teacher trainer, educational psychotherapist and author. In a practical, realistic way, I help school staff to develop their capacity and confidence to deal with challenging students and to find ways to engage them in learning. I work with young people and their parents on removing blocks to learning and achieving their full potential. I am a accredited CELTA/CELTYL and NLP trainer. I have taught and trained teachers from across the world. I am the author of ''Teaching the Unteachable' and 'What can I do with the kid who...' (Worth Publishing) and have contributed to 'Teenagers and Attachment' and 'Why can't I help this child to learn' I have written course materials for the British Council on 'Dealing with Challenging Behaviour' , 'Inclusion and Diversity' and Special Educational Needs. . My specialisms include : - dealing with challenging behaviour, - creating resourceful states for teaching and learning - managing change in difficult times - unlocking learning blocks to access learning for all. - inclusive learning for students with special needs - overcoming resistance in organisations and individuals I believe that where you start from in life is not where you have to end up. I believe passionately in providing learning opportunities for all ,taking the anxiety out of teaching and the fear out of learning and providing learning environments where we can learn from each other.
