What you'll do
This is a portfolio leadership job: you’ll set the story and growth plan for three technical product areas, then build the leaders who make it real. The person who wins here can talk product with engineers, business with executives, and tradeoffs with both.
What the role really is
You’ll lead product marketing for APM, DEM, and Developer Tools as a second-line leader. That means shaping how each business competes and grows, not just polishing launch copy. You’ll also help Datadog define a new category it’s entering.
What you'll do
- Lead the teams behind APM, DEM, and Developer Tools, coaching managers and building for scale.
- Set portfolio strategy using market, customer, competitive, funnel, and financial insights.
- Work with C-level leaders and senior partners across Product, Sales, and Marketing to shape narratives and go-to-market priorities.
- Decide how each product goes to market, from launches and campaigns to content, customer programs, and sales enablement.
- Get close enough to the technical products and their users to challenge assumptions and connect capabilities to customer and business value.
- Hire, develop leaders, plan the organization, and build accountability and better operating practices.
What they want
- A senior product marketing leader with a track record across complex technical products.
- At least five years leading teams, including meaningful experience developing managers and building organizations.
- Strong business judgment across growth, financial performance, and full-funnel marketing, with comfort using both quantitative and qualitative data.
- The ability to choose the right positioning, launch, campaign, enablement, customer, and demand-generation approach for each product’s maturity.
- Technical credibility with infrastructure, applications, developer technology, or a related field.
- An executive communicator who can handle ambiguity, align senior stakeholders, challenge ideas constructively, and make clear tradeoffs.
Why it's interesting
Three distinct product areas give you a real portfolio to shape. You’ll influence the broader platform story, work with senior leaders, and help define a category Datadog is entering. The work calls for someone who likes making hard calls and building the team that carries them through.
