What you'll do
This is a field-connected product marketing job. You’ll turn what physicians and sales teams see in the market into sharper product positioning, stronger support, and better launches.
What the role really is
You’re the link between the product, the field, and the customer. There’s strategy here, but the work stays close to the ground: understand how products are used, help sales teams explain them, and bring customer needs into product decisions.
What you'll do
- Support U.S. customers and sales teams with product questions and field needs.
- Represent Penumbra at trade shows and promote its products.
- Put promotion strategies into practice and keep product communications accurate.
- Join field training and help develop training materials.
- Track customer needs, product perceptions, and competing products.
- Spot market opportunities and share what you learn through market research.
- Contribute to product specifications and cross-functional launch work.
- Help prepare products for the field, including packaging and demo protocols.
- Reinforce product positioning with sales teams and support regional marketing colleagues.
- Develop marketing materials and sales tools.
What they want
- A bachelor’s degree in business, biology, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Clear communication and strong relationship-building skills.
- Someone who works well across teams and handles several projects with care.
- Good judgment about detail, accuracy, and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Cardiovascular device experience is preferred. An MBA is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 30% to 40% in the U.S. and/or internationally.
Why it's interesting
You’ll work on commercialization from both sides: what customers and sales teams need today, and how new products reach them. Penumbra develops medical products for challenging conditions where significant unmet need remains.
Salary
$125,000 to $200,000 USD annual base salary.
Location
Alameda, CA. Onsite. Full-time.

About Growth Marketing roles
Growth marketers drive user acquisition, activation, and retention through data-driven experimentation. They sit at the intersection of product, data, and marketing — running A/B tests, building funnels, and scaling what works.
