Quandela is a European deep-tech scale-up developing photonic quantum computers, modular, scalable, and energy-efficient systems available both on cloud and on-premise.
Following a €50M fundraising and strong commercial acceleration, we are entering a critical scale phase: structuring our enterprise go-to-market, building a high-performance marketing engine, and converting a defined universe of strategic accounts in a non-mature market.
We operate in an emerging industry where market evangelization, long sales cycles (2-4 years), and strategic account nurturing are critical.
We are looking for a senior, hands-on
VP Marketing
to build and scale our enterprise marketing organization.This role is a strategic leadership position responsible for shaping Quandela's global market narrative and building a scalable marketing engine capable of supporting the company's next growth phase and future fundraising milestones.
This is not a pure brand role. This is a pipeline generation, category leadership, and enterprise marketing architecture role.
MISSION
Build and lead Quandela's enterprise marketing engine in a maturing, emerging deep-tech market, where market education and progressive conversion are key.
The VP Marketing reports directly to the COO and works closely with executive peers including the Chief Revenue Officer and CTPO leadership in a highly technical environment.
Your mission is to build and execute a Series D-ready marketing strategy positioning Quandela as a global leader in photonic quantum computing and HPC-adjacent technologies.
You will:
- Structure and scale our enterprise lead generation strategy
- Design and execute Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaigns
- Own marketing contribution to enterprise pipeline
- Build and grow the marketing organization progressively
- Establish Quandela as a category-defining player in the global quantum ecosystem
Your focus will be on a defined universe of strategic accounts across the HPC ecosystem, research institutions, and industrial leaders.
ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE
You will directly manage a Product Marketing Specialist & an Event Specialist. You will progressively scale the marketing organization to include roles such as Demand Generation, Product Marketing Management (PMM), Marketing Operations, Content & Thought Leadership
The initial team will consist of a small core structure, with the objective of building a scalable marketing organization supporting international growth by 2027.
You will also coordinate external partners, agencies, freelancers, and specialized consultants.
INTERNATIONAL SCOPE
Quandela operates in a global scientific and enterprise ecosystem.
The role requires native or near-native English proficiency, ability to operate across Europe, North America, and Asia and comfort interacting with scientists, engineers, enterprise buyers, and public institutions worldwide.
Candidates based in Europe or the United States with strong affinity for the European deep-tech ecosystem and French culture are welcome.
SUCCESS METRICS - First 12 Months
Within the first year, success in the role will be measured through four key outcomes:
1. Positioning & Brand Leadership
Quandela is perceived as a world-class player in quantum computing and the HPC ecosystem, with a clear narrative answering : What we are, Why now, Why we win
The company establishes strong thought leadership visibility across the quantum, HPC, and advanced computing ecosystems.
2. Pipeline Contribution
Marketing contributes 30-50% of enterprise pipeline generation, supported by:
- structured CRM infrastructure
- full-funnel metrics
- ABM programs targeting strategic accounts
3. International Go-To-Market
A replicable international GTM playbook is established for key geographies: Europe, United States, Asia
4. Marketing Organization
The marketing function becomes a structured, scalable organization with:
- clear role definitions
- operational cadence with Sales and Product
- measurable contribution to business growth
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
1. Enterprise Lead Generation & Account-Based Marketing (Core Priority)
Define and execute a global enterprise lead generation strategy
Structure and deploy ABM campaigns targeting prioritized accounts
Map and tier strategic accounts Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Define Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP) and buyer personas across the quantum ecosystem (HPC researchers, industrial CIOs, innovation leaders, scientific computing teams).
Design multi-touch nurturing strategies across channels: email, LinkedIn, events, thought leadership
Ensure continuous engagement with key accounts across multi-year buying cycles.
Align closely with Sales on opportunity prioritization, account strategy, follow-up discipline
You must be comfortable launching campaigns yourself when needed.
2. Category Leadership & Narrative
Help position Quandela as a category leader in photonic quantum computing.
Responsibilities include:
- Defining the strategic market narrative linking quantum computing to industrial and HPC use cases
- Building a clear category narrative explaining the role of photonic quantum computing
- Structuring messaging answering Why quantum, Why photonics, Why Quandela
- Ensuring consistency across sales enablement, marketing campaigns, executive messaging, public communications
3. Marketing Operations, CRM & Pipeline Architecture
Own marketing contribution to enterprise pipeline generation
Sales enablement including sales narratives, decks, case studies, battlecards, technical storytelling
Structure CRM usage: segmentation, enrichment, automation, lifecycle tracking
Design and implement lead scoring models, including event contribution.
Build dashboards measuring marketing's impact on pipeline evolution.
Maintain high data quality and prevent database fatigue.
This role requires strong operational autonomy.
4. Market Evangelization in a maturing Market
This role requires prior experience marketing disruptive or emerging technologies.
You will:
- Develop educational nurturing frameworks
- Build demand where urgency is not yet fully established
- Develop ecosystem and partner marketing with HPC and cloud partners
- Nurture a community and adoption funnel (users → buyers)
Structure content strategies that progressively move accounts from:
exploration → experimentation → strategic investment
Support long sales cycles (2-4 years) including engagement during public funding programs.
5. International Go-To-Market Expansion
Develop and adapt the go-to-market strategy for international regions.
Responsibilities include:
- Adapting messaging for regional ecosystems
- Localizing marketing campaigns and assets
- Building regional market intelligence ("terrain intelligence")
- Supporting sales teams in developing regional ABM strategies
Key markets include Europe, North America, Asia
6. Product & Messaging Alignment
You will supervise the Product Marketing Specialist and ensure:
- technical features translate into persona-based value propositions
- messaging shifts from product-centric to problem-centric
- narratives evolve with product roadmap and R&D innovation
Maintain consistency across sales enablement, product launches, nurturing campaigns
7. Brand, Communications & Thought Leadership
Strengthen Quandela's global visibility and credibility.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing a global PR and communications strategy
- Building thought leadership across:
- quantum computing
- HPC ecosystems
- industrial innovation
- Securing speaking opportunities, publications, and ecosystem partnerships
- Ensuring Quandela becomes top-of-mind in quantum/HPC ecosystems
8. Event Strategy & Ecosystem Presence
You will supervise the Event Specialist and:
- integrate events into the lead generation strategy
- structure pre-event account targeting
- organize post-event structured follow-ups
- measure pipeline ROI from events
9. Team Leadership & Organizational Scaling
You will progressively build the marketing organization.
Responsibilities include:
- designing the future marketing team structure
- defining hiring roadmap and seniority mix
- managing internal and external resources
- balancing in-house vs outsourced capabilities
You are expected to act as a marketing architect and builder.
RequirementsTechnical Understanding
Engineering background (Master degree in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering) is mandatory as well as technical curiosity and ability to interact with scientists and engineers.
Seniority
10+ years of B2B technology marketing experience, Proven leadership experience in a maturing market and emerging technologies.
Experience building or restructuring marketing in a scale-up or complex technical organization
This is not a first Head of Marketing role.
Sector Background (Strongly Preferred)
