The Challenge
TMZ Deals is hunting for someone who can identify trending products across social and commerce, then turn them into compelling affiliate content. You'll be embedded in a fast-paced editorial team that moves at entertainment speed—think 6am starts and real output that reaches millions.
Your Mission
Research and identify 3-5 emerging product trends weekly across TikTok, Instagram, and commerce platforms relevant to TMZ's audience
Master the editorial workflow: copyedit, fact-check, and publish 15-20 product descriptions into the content management system
Build and maintain an accurate content tracker documenting performance metrics (clicks, conversions, publish dates) for all affiliate assets
Collaborate with senior editors to pitch and produce 8-12 original affiliate content pieces (posts, videos, guides)
Own product selection and curation for 2-3 content pillars (fashion, tech, lifestyle) with documented performance data
Develop a systematic trend-spotting process that identifies high-converting products 1-2 weeks before competitors
Increase affiliate content output quality and speed: reduce fact-check turnaround by 30% while maintaining zero errors
Contribute to testing and optimizing affiliate content formats; document learnings that inform broader TMZ Deals strategy
KPIs You'll Own
Affiliate Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Track CTR on published product content to measure content relevance and copywriting effectiveness.
Content Production Velocity
Monitor pieces published per week and fact-check turnaround time to optimize editorial workflow.
Product Trend Accuracy
Measure the conversion rate and engagement on products you identified vs. editorial picks to validate trend-spotting capability.
Affiliate Revenue Contribution
