The Challenge
J.Crew needs someone to own their social presence across all platforms—building community, driving engagement, and connecting content strategy to revenue. You'll balance creative storytelling with hard analytics to keep a legacy retail brand culturally relevant.
Your Mission
Audit current social performance across all platforms and establish baseline KPIs for engagement, reach, and conversion

Implement community management protocol: response time targets, sentiment tracking, and escalation process for brand issues
Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to align messaging across 3-4 major campaigns launching in Q1
Grow follower count by 15-20% while maintaining or improving engagement rate through trend-forward organic content
Build and execute 2 major community-driven activations or contests that drive meaningful interactions and user-generated content
Establish paid social partnership with performance marketing team, optimizing ROAS on 3+ campaigns
Deliver monthly insights reports showing sentiment analysis, top-performing content themes, and actionable recommendations for product/marketing teams

Is This Role For You?
- You've managed social for a consumer brand and can prove growth through engagement or follower metrics
- You're obsessed with TikTok trends and can create or direct on-brand content that feels native to the platform
- You can read a dashboard—analytics don't intimidate you, and you tie every post back to business outcomes
- You're a communicator first: you thrive on responding to community, handling sensitive feedback with grace, and building real relationships online
- You think social is just posting pretty pictures—you need to see it as both art and science
- You need remote flexibility or don't want to commute to NYC daily
- You're not comfortable with fast iteration and testing; legacy brands move slower, and you need patience
