Head of Partnerships (Africa)

Spending time in a hub location (London, Dubai, Paris, or New York) and Africa (50%+)

Shape the future of Africa’s financial landscape while building your legacy. This is your chance to lead business strategy, build powerful commercial relationships and directly drive positive outcomes for the continent and diaspora communities around the world.

You’ll have the freedom to trust your own instincts, make connections across Africa, and pursue commercial deals where your gut tells you opportunity exists. You’ll be trusted to know what’s best, to represent the business at senior levels, and to lead on some of our most critical relationships in the region.

Work for the market-leading emerging markets FinTech, with a genuine mission to support Africa's development by driving capital into the continent over the long term.

What you’ll do

As well as owning the relationship with existing partners in Africa, you'll constantly be identifying new partners and stakeholders in Africa, directly building relationships with them. You’ll negotiate great deals and oversee the process from first meeting to go-live.

Working with regulators and policy makers across the region, you’ll represent the Taptap Send brand externally, personifying competence and instilling confidence through all of your interactions.

Understanding everything that’s going on in your markets through the tracking, analysis, and reporting of key metrics will be key. You’ll also work with other members of the Growth team to develop and share best practices.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Ops, Business Development, and Engineering teams to ensure Taptap Send has the best product offering in the market, being the internal voice of the region.

What you’ll need

  • ~10+ years of experience in high-performing, fast-paced environments (tech, professional services, finance etc)

  • A demonstrable instinct for commercial deal-making

  • Exposure to working with regulators and policy makers in Africa

  • Significant ties to Africa

  • “No task too small” mentality and willingness to delve into gritty details to get things done

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Fluency in a language other than English (e.g. French), a plus

  • Experience in Financial Services, Fintech, Payments

We’re growing fast, backed by world-class investors, and scaling a product that blends real world impact with cutting edge fintech innovation.
