Audit and align sales enablement materials (decks, case studies, proposals) across all service lines to ensure consistent messaging

3

Build 90-day demand generation roadmap with prioritized campaigns mapped to ICPs, verticals, and revenue targets

4

Map marketing tech stack and vendor relationships; identify gaps and optimization opportunities for Q1-Q2 execution

By 6 Months
1

Execute integrated demand generation campaigns (outbound, ABM, digital, events) with documented ROI and pipeline contribution by service line

2

Launch thought leadership program and refresh brand positioning to differentiate CyberGuard in the competitive cybersecurity services market

3

Support 3-4 strategic industry events (RSA, Black Hat, ISACA, PCI NA) with measurable lead generation and brand lift outcomes

4

Develop and implement quarterly marketing performance dashboard; achieve 25%+ increase in marketing-sourced pipeline quarter-over-quarter

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You've built pipeline-generating marketing functions at B2B services or SaaS companies (not just managed existing programs)
  • You're comfortable in a hands-on builder-operator role with no team yet-you execute AND strategize
  • You understand ABM, demand gen, and event marketing, and can speak fluently about pipeline attribution and ROI
  • You thrive in fast-growth environments where revenue targets are clear and marketing owns measurable outcomes
  • You can translate complex technical/compliance offerings into differentiated market narratives that resonate with buyers
Won't Work If
  • You need a large team immediately; this role is individual contributor-focused at the start
  • You view marketing as brand/creative-only; you need to live and breathe pipeline metrics
  • You require hands-off strategic work; this is 60% execution, 40% strategy in year one
  • You have no experience in B2B services, cybersecurity, or compliance-driven selling

Interview Process

1

Initial call with recruiter or CRO

Discuss background, pipeline-building experience, and understanding of VP Marketing scope in growth-stage services firms

2

Case study or strategy exercise

Develop 90-day marketing plan or assess demand gen strategy for a cybersecurity/compliance services GTM scenario

3

CEO conversation

Alignment on revenue strategy, go-to-market priorities, and partnership model with executive team

4

Sales leadership discussion

Understand current sales process, pipeline challenges, and enablement gaps from the CRO and sales leadership perspective
