The Challenge

The Recording Academy is the music industry's most powerful platform-30K members, Grammy Awards, and a Disney media partnership. You'll build the global partnership ecosystem that unlocks new revenue streams and amplifies their cultural leadership across Fortune 500 brands, tech platforms, and entertainment.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Map the global partnership landscape: identify 40+ strategic partnership opportunities across music, tech, corporate, and nonprofit sectors aligned with organizational mission

Conduct 20+ discovery calls with C-suite stakeholders and department heads to align on partnership priorities, revenue targets, and brand positioning

3

Develop a partnership strategy roadmap with 3-5 near-term partnership opportunities for immediate pursuit (Q1-Q2 2026)

4

Establish partnership frameworks: pricing models, activation platforms, and governance structures for Disney+ and broader media rights partnerships

By 6 Months
1

Secure 2-3 major enterprise partnerships generating $2M+ in combined annual revenue or strategic value

Launch integrated partnership activation across Grammy Awards, content distribution, and year-round programs with measurable audience engagement

Build cross-functional alignment: establish monthly cadence with marketing, content, events, and finance teams to operationalize partnership strategy

4

Develop competitive market analysis and emerging partnership models (branded content, NFTs, experiential, international co-productions) with revenue projections

Annual Partnership Revenue

Total recurring and project-based revenue generated from new and existing partnerships, tracking toward enterprise growth targets.

Partnership Close Rate

Percentage of identified partnership opportunities that convert to signed agreements within target timeframe.

Partner Activation & Engagement

Measurement of partner ROI across Grammy events, content, and programs; renewal rates and expansion opportunities from existing partnerships.

Brand Value & Reach

Quantified extension of Academy brand reach through partner channels, audience growth, and cultural impact metrics across new platforms and demographics.

Disney Partnership Ecosystem Growth

Revenue, audience reach, and content performance tied to Disney+ partnership expansion and ancillary partnership layer development.

  • You've closed 5+ enterprise partnerships worth $1M+ each-you speak fluent Fortune 500 and can navigate complex multi-stakeholder negotiations

  • You're comfortable in ambiguity and building strategy from scratch-The Academy is scaling partnerships from an emerging practice into an enterprise engine
  • You have relationships across entertainment, tech, and corporate sectors; you can open doors and build trust at C-level
Won't Work If
  • You need remote flexibility-this role is on-site in LA and requires presence for relationship building and internal alignment
  • You optimize purely for transaction velocity; partnership success here requires mission alignment, cultural consideration, and long-term relationship strategy
  • You lack experience in B2B partnerships or enterprise sales; this is a strategic, high-complexity role requiring 8+ years at VP-level or equivalent

Interview Process

Initial Screening

Phone screen with People/Recruiting team to assess background, partnership portfolio, and cultural fit with Academy mission

Executive Panel

Meeting with Chief Executive Officer or President plus 1-2 key stakeholders (Marketing, Content) to discuss strategy, revenue vision, and organizational alignment

Business Case / Strategy Presentation

Develop a 90-day partnership strategy roadmap addressing Disney integration, new revenue opportunities, and cross-platform activation

4

Reference Checks

Conversations with prior Fortune 500 partners, internal stakeholders from previous roles, and professional references
