What you'll do
Position Summary...Sam’s Club is looking for an Email Marketing Manager who can turn strategy into high-performing campaigns that drive sales, strengthen membership loyalty, and improve how members experience our brand across digital touchpoints.
In this role, you will lead the execution and optimization of promotional email campaigns from brief to launch to post-campaign insights. This is not just about sending emails. It is about partnering across a large, fast-moving organization to keep work on track, solve problems early, and continuously improve campaign performance through smarter targeting, testing, and personalization.
The right person for this role thrives in an evolving environment, knows how to balance speed with quality, and can influence partners while keeping the member experience at the center of every decision.
What you'll do...What You’ll Do
In your first year, you will be expected to take ownership of core promotional email campaigns and help elevate the effectiveness, discipline, and agility of the program. You will:
- Lead end-to-end execution of promotional email campaigns that support in-club and online sales, membership loyalty, and brand awareness.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to keep projects moving, align on priorities, and ensure deliverables and timelines are met in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Write clear, strategic creative briefs that connect the brand story to business goals and member needs, using both static and dynamic content to improve relevance.
- Improve campaign performance by identifying smarter ways to segment audiences, personalize content, and optimize the customer journey.
- Support and scale testing efforts across subject lines, content, timing, and targeting so the team can make better, data-informed decisions.
- Analyze campaign results and translate performance data into actionable recommendations that improve future planning and execution.
- Help build stronger processes that anticipate business needs, reduce friction, and create more consistency across stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted partner to business owners by holding teams accountable, surfacing pain points early, and helping the group find practical solutions when priorities shift.
- Champion a member-first mindset by advocating for better digital experiences in every campaign and interaction.
- Contribute to a team culture that values speed, accountability, process improvement, and celebrating both big wins and everyday progress.
You’re likely to be successful in this role if you have a track record of delivering strong email marketing execution while influencing across teams and adapting to change. We’re especially excited about candidates who bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, with hands-on experience in email marketing campaign execution and management preferred.
- A strong understanding of email marketing best practices, including creative development, template structure, segmentation, testing, and dynamic content.
- Experience managing multiple projects at once while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Confidence working in a large, highly collaborative organization with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to keep partners aligned and accountable.
- A data-driven mindset and familiarity with analytics and reporting tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe/Omniture.
- The ability to turn campaign results into insights, recommendations, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach, especially when navigating ambiguity, change, or competing priorities.
- A genuine commitment to improving the member experience and building better digital marketing programs over time.
- Health benefits include medical, vision and dental coverage
- Financial benefits include 401(k), stock purchase and company-paid life insurance
- Paid time off benefits include PTO, parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. You will also receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount you receive depends on your job classification and length of employment. - Other benefits include short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and more.
