The Challenge
Roc Nation needs a digital strategist who can lead a team and architect go-to-market campaigns for a diverse roster of music artists. You'll own both strategy and execution across social, retail partnerships, and D2C channels-reporting to two senior stakeholders in a fast-paced entertainment environment.
Your Mission
Assess current team composition, audit existing digital marketing workflows, and identify process gaps across social, retail, and partnership management
Develop and present a 90-day digital strategy roadmap covering artist campaign templates, platform priorities, and partner relationship optimization
Execute 2-3 major artist release campaigns end-to-end, demonstrating your approach to playlist securing, retail merchandising, and social amplification
Establish weekly reporting cadence with both President of Distribution and VP of Digital Marketing, defining shared KPIs and success metrics
Scale team performance: implement training program, establish SOPs for content production, social publishing, and campaign execution; measure team productivity gains
Build partner relationships: secure at least 3 new strategic partnerships with DSPs or digital retail platforms; document terms and revenue impact
Grow artist KPIs: deliver measurable increases in streaming, social engagement, and D2C traffic across portfolio (target: 20%+ growth in key metrics)
Revenue impact: quantify campaign performance; attribute new revenue streams from playlisting, merchandising, and influencer partnerships

Aggregate engagement (likes, comments, shares) as % of followers across all managed accounts.
Playlist Placements
Number and prominence tier of DSP playlist adds per release; track both editorial and algorithmic placements.
Campaign ROI
Revenue generated (streaming, merch, D2C sales) attributed to paid and organic digital campaigns vs. spend.
Team Utilization
Campaigns completed on deadline; average campaign turnaround time; team retention rate.

- You've managed digital marketing teams in music, entertainment, or D2C brands and have shipped campaigns at scale
- You understand music industry mechanics: DSP playlisting, retail strategy, and artist positioning
- You're comfortable with ambiguity and dual reporting; you can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
- You have strong writing chops and can pitch ideas to artists, managers, and C-suite stakeholders
- You track metrics obsessively and can defend campaign performance with data
- You need remote flexibility or flexible scheduling; this is 5 days/week on-site in NYC
- You've never managed a team or don't enjoy people leadership and coaching
- You lack direct experience in music, entertainment, or creator economy-the domain knowledge bar is high
- You prefer deep specialization in one channel over owning full funnel strategy and execution
