The Challenge
J&J MedTech's Aesthetics division is redefining surgical innovation, and they need a digital marketer who can build brand authority with surgeons and patients simultaneously. You'll own social and influencer programs that position cutting-edge surgical solutions in a category that's exploding.
Your Mission
Audit current social presence across platforms and competitive landscape; establish baseline metrics for engagement, reach, and follower growth
Map and onboard 5-8 key influencers (surgeons, medical educators, patient advocates) with defined content calendars and KPIs
Launch 2-3 flagship social campaigns tied to product launches or awareness initiatives with clear conversion funnels
Build internal stakeholder alignment on digital strategy, tone, compliance guardrails, and approval workflows with medical/legal teams
Grow qualified social audience by 40%+ with engagement rate above industry benchmarks (healthcare: 2-4% typically)
Scale influencer program to 15+ active partnerships generating 30+ pieces of branded content monthly
Hit target metrics: $X CAC, Y% conversion from social to lead/consultation, Z% brand lift in awareness studies
Develop repeatable playbooks for product launches, thought leadership, and patient education content that can scale across channels
KPIs You'll Own
Social Engagement Rate
Monthly engagement (likes, comments, shares) divided by impressions; target 2-4% for healthcare verticals.

Follower Growth Rate
Monthly net new followers as % of existing base; aim for 3-5% sustainable growth.
Click-Through Rate (CTR)

Is This Role For You?
- You've built and scaled social media programs from scratch-you understand audience psychology, platform algorithms, and content strategy
- You've managed influencer relationships or ambassador programs and can prove ROI (not just vanity metrics)
- You're energized by regulated industries (healthcare, medical devices); you understand compliance, HIPAA, and why you can't just post whatever
- You thrive in matrix organizations and can navigate buy-in from medical, legal, regulatory, and sales stakeholders
- You're data-driven and can tie social activity to business outcomes (leads, conversions, brand lift)
- You expect full remote work; this is on-site in Irvine, CA with no flexibility mentioned
- You're looking for a hands-on creative role; this is management-you'll be strategizing, managing vendors/influencers, and stakeholder management more than creating
- You have zero experience with healthcare/regulated industries and aren't willing to learn compliance constraints
- You measure success by follower count and likes; you need to tie activity to business metrics or you'll clash with leadership
