What you'll do
Accountabilities:
Own the active member lifecycle strategy, mapping the member journey and defining communication approaches across onboarding, sustained engagement, re-engagement, and winback stages.
Build and manage the annual and quarterly engagement roadmap, including clear priorities and decisions around where and when to communicate.
Develop a segmentation framework based on member behavior, sensor data, app engagement, care team interactions, clinical progress, enrollment channels, and other relevant signals.
Govern the member communication calendar across marketing, care delivery, product, and clinical teams to create a coordinated and consistent experience.
Inventory existing member touchpoints and maintain a comprehensive communication map as the source of truth.
Partner with Care Delivery and Clinical leadership to establish clear boundaries between marketing and clinical communications.
Design suppression rules, frequency caps, quiet hours, and other controls to ensure overall message volume remains deliberate and manageable.
Collaborate with Product on campaign-based push notifications and in-app messaging.
Account for operational requirements such as eligibility files, employer and health plan communication rules, benefits calendars, co-branding requirements, and overlapping communications from other vendors.
Build and launch end-to-end campaigns in Braze, including audience logic, Canvas journeys, content, QA, deployment, and iteration.
Write campaign copy and creative briefs while coordinating design, clinical, and legal reviews as needed.
Help mature the Braze environment through event taxonomy, catalogs, Connected Content, templates, preference centers, deliverability, sender reputation, and data integration with Snowflake.
Establish a structured experimentation program covering creative and subject lines initially, followed by channel mix, cadence, timing, incentives, and direct mail.
Measure campaign performance and develop dashboards in partnership with Marketing Operations to demonstrate effectiveness.
Regularly communicate campaign results, learnings, wins, losses, and recommended adjustments to Growth Marketing and leadership.
Maintain strong compliance practices across HIPAA, PHI handling, TCPA and SMS consent, CAN-SPAM, and internal clinical review requirements.
Build a scalable lifecycle marketing engine with documented strategy, reliable deliverability, an active testing backlog, and trusted reporting.
Drive measurable improvements in member activation, sustained engagement, retention, and relevant clinical milestones.
Requirements:
4-7 years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, retention, or engagement marketing, with meaningful ownership of programs from strategy through execution.
Hands-on expertise with Braze, including the ability to independently build multi-branch Canvas journeys, behavioral triggers, Liquid personalization, and suppression logic.
Demonstrated multi-channel marketing experience, including email plus at least one additional channel such as SMS, push, or in-app messaging.
Strong experimentation skills, including experience designing holdout tests, interpreting results appropriately, and being comfortable reporting inconclusive or null findings.
Experience building processes and programs from the ground up, with the ability to establish structure where a formal lifecycle program does not yet exist.
Strong analytical and customer-oriented mindset, with the ability to translate behavioral data and feedback into actionable marketing improvements.
Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across marketing, product, clinical, care delivery, legal, and operational teams.
Healthcare or digital health marketing experience is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of HIPAA and PHI handling within marketing systems is a plus.
Experience within a point-solution ecosystem serving employers, health plans, or health systems is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with eligibility-driven populations, client communication approvals, enrollment marketing, and active member engagement is advantageous.
Experience marketing alongside human care teams or clinical staff is a plus.
Exposure to offline channels such as direct mail, print, or member webinars and experience measuring their impact is preferred.
