The Challenge

Alera Group is the 14th largest US business insurance broker with nationwide offices—and they need someone to build and lead their digital marketing engine. You'll own multi-channel campaigns (email, paid search, social, SEO) while mentoring a team and driving measurable client acquisition across employee benefits, P&C insurance, and wealth services.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit existing digital marketing stack and establish baseline metrics across all channels (GA, Pardot, Salesforce) to identify quick wins

2

Build 90-day content and paid search roadmap aligned with Q1/Q2 lead generation targets for each service line

3

Establish weekly team cadence, define role clarity, and implement project management system (Asana, Monday.com, or similar)

4

Launch 2-3 high-impact A/B tests across email and landing pages to establish conversion optimization benchmarks

By 6 Months
1

Deliver 25-40% YoY improvement in digital channel lead volume and cost-per-acquisition by optimizing paid search and email campaigns

2

Grow organic traffic 50%+ through SEO strategy overhaul and content publishing roadmap across service lines

3

Train and scale digital marketing team to independently manage campaigns; establish documented processes and KPI dashboards

4

Implement marketing automation workflows in Pardot/Salesforce to nurture leads and improve conversion rates by 20%+

KPIs You'll Own

Cost Per Acquisition (CPA)

Track CPA across email, paid search, display, and social channels—target 15-25% reduction within 6 months through optimization.

Lead Volume & Quality Score

Measure total leads generated and assign Salesforce lead scores to track quality and sales team conversion rates.

Organic Traffic & Keyword Rankings

Monitor GA sessions from organic search and track rankings for target keywords in each service vertical.

Email Campaign Performance

Track open rates, click rates, and conversion rates—benchmark against industry standards and improve via A/B testing.

Paid Search ROAS

Return on ad spend across Google Ads—target 3:1 ROAS minimum within first quarter.

Website Conversion Rate

Landing page and website conversion rates by traffic source—baseline and improve through optimization sprints.
