The Challenge

8090 is building a Software Factory that auto-generates complete software systems-backed by Chamath Palihapitiya. You'll design the growth loops, onboarding, and lifecycle automation that turns curious prospects into power users who keep coming back.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Map the current user journey from signup to first value moment; identify top 3 drop-off points and run experiments to reduce friction by 20%+

2

Build and launch a polished demo environment with 3-5 compelling use-case walkthroughs that convert interest to activation

3

Create and deploy lifecycle automation sequences (welcome flow, re-engagement, expansion) across email and in-product for 80%+ of users

4

Establish baseline cohort and funnel metrics; create weekly dashboards tracking activation, retention, and expansion rates

By 6 Months
1

Increase activation (reaching first key milestone) by 35%+ through optimized onboarding and in-product guidance

2

Reduce month-1 churn by 25%+ via retention-focused experiments and enablement content tied to common blockers

3

Launch 5+ pieces of technical content (case studies, walkthroughs, reference examples) that drive self-serve adoption and expansion

4

Scale enterprise expansion motion: create repeatable playbooks and internal enablement materials for 10+ customer accounts

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You obsess over user behavior-you actually watch session recordings and form hypotheses before jumping to solutions
  • You can straddle technical and marketing worlds: comfortable reading code, scripting automations, and building compelling demos
  • You're drawn to lifecycle and activation challenges-turning confused prospects into engaged, expanding customers is your jam
  • You thrive in early-stage, fast-moving environments where you own the full funnel from first touch to expansion
Won't Work If
  • You prefer staying heads-down in one discipline (pure marketing or pure engineering); this role demands both
  • You need remote flexibility; this is on-site in Menlo Park or Toronto-no exceptions
  • You're uncomfortable with ambiguity or prefer working from a prescriptive playbook; you'll be building the playbook here
