What you'll do
The Product Owner II is responsible for leading a product or set of product features through road mapping, design, and development phases of product lifecycle. This role manages the product line internally day-to-day, using agile methodologies to define release product needs and features in alignment with product strategy. They work closely with product stakeholders to develop specifications for consumption by development teams and clearly communicate the product vision, roadmap, and customer value.
Essential Functions
- Partner cross-functionally to maintain a roadmap based upon product and release strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize product backlog provide input on timing and readiness for planned production releases Create and facilitate feature requirements, user stories, and user interface design changes; work with technical teams to ensure readiness for development
- Approve sprint deliverables, balance feedback and ensure solutions meet product requirements and enable overall product health
- Coordinate and assist with beta process and resolution of product resolution issues across stakeholders and development team
- Identify and manage risks at the release and iteration level in partnership with team managers
- Assist with quality related tasks and complete quality training as required for products under scope of regulatory quality management
- Ensure that training content is created and delivered for new product functionality; provide customer production issue escalation assistance and oversight to ensure resolution
- Participates in, and may lead, daily stand-ups, refinement, story review, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Stay current with industry trends, platform roadmaps, technological advancements, and best practices in product ownership and product management
- Comply with Company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned
- Partner with the Product Manager to draft and manage the roadmap based on the business and release strategies
- Provide domain expertise to assist with user experience planning
- Participate in (and in some cases lead) customer and vendor meetings
- Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Business Administration or Business Area of Supply Chain and Logistics or equivalent education and/or experience
- 2 years Experience with packaged CRM applications focusing on pre-sales processes. and
- Experience in one or more of the following: IT process design, product design, product planning, or project planning in a technology organization. and
- Experience with Agile methodologies or Scrum framework
- 3 years Experience implementing packaged SaaS CRM solutions (Salesforce preferred), including requirements, design, configuration/development, and go-live activities
- Strong verbal and written communications; ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels in the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; critical thinking and a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Strong organizational, attention to detail, and follow-up skills; ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple assignments and meet assigned deadlines
- Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Dev Ops or similar SDLC management tools
- Knowledge of distribution and service within the animal health and dental industries, including equipment, software, merchandise, and pharmaceuticals, is preferred
- Knowledge of Salesforce pre-sales capabilities and data model (Leads, Opportunities, Accounts/Contacts, Quotes, CPQ) and how they support lead-to-cash business processes.
- Knowledge of overall Salesforce capabilities and ecosystem—core platform features, data model, automation, security, reporting, and AppExchange.
- Working knowledge of large-scale enterprise application ecosystems and integration patterns (e.g., SAP, Informatica, Workday, Microsoft Azure).
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO or similar agile certification) Upon Hire Preferred
