O que você vai fazer
SLATE, GTM Partner (Equity + Commission) Stage: Pre-revenue, live product, building the merchant network
Location: Austin, TX (in-person selling required)
Commitment: Part-time to start, this is a real partnership, not a full-time role yet
Compensation: 1-8% equity + 100% of first-year revenue from your accounts
What we're building SLATE is operations software for independent gyms and wellness studios: memberships, class packs, scheduling, member management, and check-in, built around a universal Apple Wallet pass that works across every merchant on the network.
One pass per customer, works everywhere. No app downloads, no email lookups, no fumbling at the front desk. The product is live, deployed, and in the App Store.
We're replacing Mindbody and Vagaro for independent operators in Austin, starting now.
The role
You're not joining a sales org. You're building one, alongside the founder, at a pace that fits your life.
This is a GTM partnership. You'll shape positioning, define the playbook, close merchants in person, and own the commercial strategy as the network grows. The time commitment is honest: a few focused hours a week to start, scaling with the business as revenue justifies it.
What makes this real and not a side project: you'll have decision-making authority over how SLATE goes to market, direct input on product direction from merchant conversations, and equity that vests on outcomes you control.
What you'll own
ICP definition, messaging, and offer strategy, built from what you learn in the field In-person outreach to Austin gym owners and studio operators Discovery, demos, follow-ups, and closing Pricing and objection-handling playbook as it develops Direct product feedback loop with the founder The roadmap for when and how to scale the GTM team
Compensation
No salary. This is a pre-revenue startup with a working product and no cash to deploy on payroll. Compensation is equity and commission designed so that you own what you build.
Equity: 1-8%
Milestone-based vesting tied to merchants you close and retain. A merchant counts as "retained" after 6 consecutive months of paid platform fees, whether they entered on a promotional waiver or at full rate. Vesting tranches and targets negotiated at offer, scaled to your commitment level and experience.
Commission: per-account, starting at 100%
Our launch strategy waives platform fees for approximately the first 12 merchants to seed network density. If you close using the waiver, cash from that account is zero during the free period. When the merchant converts to paid, your commission clock starts:
First 12 months of paid revenue from an account: 100% to you Months 13-24: 50% to you Month 25+: Baseline split, agreed in writing before any account reaches this stage
If you close a merchant without the waiver, you earn immediately, same structure, same 100% first year.
What this looks like in practice
Year one is about building the network. Cash will be minimal unless you close merchants at full rate from the start. The equity and the book of business you're building are the year-one compensation.
Year two is when it compounds. 20 merchants at average platform volume with fees active and Pro subscriptions ($100/month) converting, realistic cash earnings of $4,000-$10,000/month from your accounts, plus equity in a platform with proven local traction.
Who you are
Proven ability to sell into SMBs, ideally owner-operated businesses Comfortable building process and strategy, not just running someone else's Can walk into a studio, have a real conversation with the owner, and close Based in Austin and plugged into the local wellness or fitness scene Excited by equity upside and willing to bet on yourself Already have income or runway, this doesn't need to be your paycheck on day one
Nice to have
Experience in gyms, studios, wellness, or local services Background as a first sales hire or founding GTM at a startup Existing relationships with Austin wellness business owners
