The Challenge

DoorDash is building its first marketing team in Mexico City and needs a paid search specialist to scale SMB merchant acquisition across the US and Canada. You'll manage multi-million dollar budgets, partner directly with Google and Microsoft, and be a founding member of a rapidly expanding B2B growth operation.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit and optimize existing Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts across US/Canada for performance efficiency; establish baseline metrics and identify quick wins to reduce CPA by 10-15%

Build comprehensive keyword strategy and query mining framework aligned to B2B merchant acquisition goals; document UTM governance and attribution setup

Design and launch initial experimentation roadmap with 3-4 prioritized tests (bidding, creative, automation) with success criteria and weekly tracking

Establish weekly performance reporting cadence with cross-functional stakeholders; surface top 3 risks and growth opportunities to manager

By 6 Months

Scale Performance Max campaigns across both markets; achieve target ROAS and CPA thresholds while maintaining MQL and conversion quality metrics

Lead 8-10 structured experiments with documented learnings; implement top 3 winning tests into production and measure incremental impact

Build predictive budget pacing model using SQL/Sheets to reduce wasted spend and improve daily performance monitoring; automate weekly reporting

Partner with Google and Microsoft to test and deploy 2+ new platform features; train team on new tools and establish best practice playbooks

Volume and quality of leads generated from paid search; balance quantity with conversion potential.

Cost Per Lead (CPL)

Efficiency metric for lead generation programs; monitor weekly and adjust bid strategy to maintain targets.

Cost Per Click (CPC)

Average cost of each click from ads; use for competitive benchmarking and channel performance comparison.

Lifetime Value (LTV)

Total revenue generated from acquired customers; essential for determining acceptable acquisition costs.
