The Challenge

HALO Trust USA removes landmines from 20+ countries and needs to scale digital fundraising to fuel growth. You'll build the digital engine that converts strangers into recurring donors-thinking like a growth marketer but for mission impact.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit existing digital channels (email, paid ads, social) and identify quick wins to increase donor acquisition costs efficiency by 15%

Launch first data-driven donor segmentation strategy and create 3-4 targeted acquisition campaigns across email and paid channels

Establish baseline KPIs for donor LTV, conversion rates by channel, and newsletter engagement; implement tracking in analytics platform

Build relationships with internal stakeholders (Philanthropy team, Communications, Country Program Officers) and document decision-making workflows

By 6 Months

Grow newsletter subscriber base by 40% and track engagement metrics to identify high-intent donor segments

Achieve 25%+ improvement in paid ad ROI through audience testing, creative iteration, and conversion funnel optimization

Develop and execute regular giving acquisition strategy with clear propositions and conversion journeys; target 20% increase in new recurring donors

Create quarterly performance reports with actionable insights on donor segmentation, channel performance, and recommendations for strategic pivot

KPIs You'll Own

Donor Acquisition Cost (DAC)

Track cost per new donor by channel and work to reduce DAC while maintaining quality long-term donor retention.

Conversion Rate by Channel

Monitor email, paid ads, and organic social conversion rates to identify highest-performing acquisition channels.

Lifetime Value (LTV) of Regular Givers

Measure average revenue per recurring donor over time to validate that new acquisition is building sustainable revenue.

Campaign ROI

Calculate return on investment for each digital campaign to optimize budget allocation and prove campaign effectiveness.

Newsletter Engagement & Growth

Track open rates, click-through rates, and monthly subscriber growth to fuel ongoing donor communication and upsell.

  • You've driven donor/supporter acquisition in political campaigns or charitable fundraising and can prove ROI with data
  • You're fluent in digital channels (email, paid ads, social) and know how to test, analyze, and iterate quickly
  • You love building funnels and conversion journeys-not just pushing campaigns, but designing experiences that convert
  • You're energized by mission-driven work and want your marketing skills to fund real-world impact overseas
  • You have 7+ years marketing experience with strong copywriting and analytical chops
Won't Work If
  • You need full remote work-this role is on-site in DC with hybrid as a stretch
  • You're uncomfortable reporting to a non-marketing stakeholder (Philanthropy team) or working cross-functionally
  • You don't have direct experience with donor/fundraising acquisition or similar B2C conversion marketing
