The Challenge
Fortra is building out their paid media function and needs a strategic lead to own campaign execution across Google, Bing, LinkedIn, and beyond. You'll drive ROI optimization, audience targeting, and creative testing while partnering closely with the broader marketing team to accelerate brand visibility.
Your Mission
Audit existing paid media campaigns across all platforms and establish baseline performance metrics (ROAS, CPA, CTR) to identify quick wins
Develop and execute 2-3 high-impact campaigns (search, social, or display) with clear A/B testing frameworks and weekly optimization cycles
Build audience segmentation and keyword research playbook for future campaigns with documented best practices
Create monthly performance dashboards and reporting cadence to stakeholders with actionable recommendations on budget reallocation
Achieve 15-20% improvement in overall paid media ROAS through systematic testing, creative optimization, and budget reallocation
Scale top-performing campaigns by 30%+ while maintaining or reducing CPA through audience expansion and bid optimization
Establish competitive intelligence framework tracking 5-10 key competitors' paid strategies and monthly trend analysis
Lead cross-functional collaboration with creative, product, and SEO teams to integrate paid media into cohesive growth strategy

Return on Ad Spend (ROAS)
Measure revenue generated per dollar spent on paid ads—your primary north star for campaign performance.
Cost Per Acquisition (CPA)
Track the cost to acquire one customer; optimize down through audience targeting and creative testing.
Click-Through Rate (CTR)
Monitor the percentage of impressions that convert to clicks—indicator of ad relevance and messaging strength.
Campaign Budget Efficiency
Ensure spend stays within budget while maximizing performance—requires real-time monitoring and reallocation.
A/B Test Velocity
Number of experiments launched monthly; higher velocity = faster learning and optimization cycles.
