The Challenge

Universal Music France is France's leading music entertainment company, and they need someone to drive digital strategy innovation across their artist roster. You'll be the connective tissue between labels, artists, and streaming platforms—optimizing launches, managing partnerships with Spotify/Apple/YouTube, and proving ROI through hard data.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Establish yourself as the go-to digital strategist for 3-4 priority label partners; document their current streaming performance and baseline KPIs

Map all active streaming platform partnerships (Spotify, Deezer, Apple, YouTube, Amazon) and audit existing playlist placement coverage for top 10 artists

Build a repeatable digital launch playbook: pre-release strategy, content timeline, playlist pitching process, investment allocation framework

4

Set up automated performance dashboards tracking streams, playlist adds, click-through rates, and paid spend ROI across all DSPs

By 6 Months
1

Execute 6+ full-cycle album/single launches using your optimized playbook; demonstrate 15%+ improvement in playlist penetration vs. pre-standardization baseline

Negotiate and activate 3+ new strategic partnership deals with DSP editorial teams (playlist placement guarantees, featured placement, regional focus)

Deliver monthly data-driven insights reports showing which content strategies, release windows, and paid tactics drive highest streaming velocity

Scale your digital advisory capacity to support 8-10 labels simultaneously while maintaining consistent strategy quality and measurable lift in artist visibility

Playlist Add Rate

Percentage of released singles that secure playlist placements on major DSPs; track adds vs. total pitches to measure editorial relationship strength.

Stream Growth vs. Spend

Cost per stream acquisition across paid marketing channels; benchmark against baseline and optimize spend allocation monthly.

Release Week Performance

First-week streams, playlist positions reached, and peak chart placement; compare actual performance to targets set in launch strategy.

Artist/Label Adoption Rate

Percentage of labels actively using your digital strategies and playbooks; measure engagement and satisfaction through quarterly check-ins.

  • You're equally comfortable being a strategist, diplomat (managing label/artist relationships), and project coordinator
  • You want to shape how music gets discovered; you understand playlist strategy, DSP editorial dynamics, and paid promotion ROI

  • You're not genuinely interested in music or entertainment; this role requires authentic passion
  • You expect to own P&L or manage a large budget; you're an enabler/strategist, not a P&L owner
