The Challenge
Sunbit is scaling AI-native financial tech across 30,000+ merchant locations with 90%+ approval rates. You'll architect the analytical backbone that turns merchant data into strategic decisions that move the needle on loans portfolio growth and operational excellence.
Your Mission
Audit current merchant analytics stack, identify gaps in KPI governance, and establish the 'Golden Source' for all Merchant metrics
Build foundational predictive models for merchant lifecycle value and loan portfolio risk to inform Q1-Q2 strategy decisions
Design and socialize the 12-month analytical roadmap with Merchant exec leadership and secure resource alignment
Launch first cross-functional experimentation framework (A/B testing blueprint) with Product and Engineering
Deploy elasticity and incrementality models that quantify ROI on merchant engagement programs and pricing strategies
Scale prescriptive analytics to Operations: real-time dashboards flagging merchant health risks and loan performance anomalies
Establish portfolio governance framework (KPI thresholds, risk scoring, profitability tiers) that gates major merchant/loan decisions
Hire and onboard 2-3 analytics engineers; document analytical infrastructure and best practices for institutional knowledge

Merchant Approval Rate by Vertical
Track 90%+ approval rate targets across auto service, dental, optical, vet segments to ensure pricing and decisioning consistency.
Merchant Lifetime Value (MLV)
Revenue per merchant cohort, retention curves, and profitability across acquisition channels and verticals.
Loan Portfolio Performance
Charge-off rates, prepayment behavior, and risk-adjusted returns by merchant and consumer cohort.
Experimentation Velocity
Number of live A/B tests, incrementality studies, and analytical insights shipped to Product per quarter.
Data Infrastructure Uptime & SLA
Golden Source availability, dashboard/model refresh frequency, and time-to-insight for urgent business questions.

- You've led analytics teams or owned analytics strategy at a B2B2C or fintech company; you're comfortable with merchant P&L accountability
- You thrive translating complex data into executive narratives and high-stakes business strategy-not just dashboards
- You've built or scaled predictive/prescriptive models (churn, LTV, risk scoring, pricing elasticity) in production systems
- You love designing experimentation frameworks and own analytical prioritization as a strategic lever, not just a support function
- You want to impact a mission: democratizing financial access at scale with transparency and zero predatory fees
- You're looking for a hands-on analyst role; this is leadership and strategy, with significant delegation and cross-functional influence required
- You need fully remote work; this is hybrid in Westwood, LA with office presence expected
