The Challenge
Canva is hunting for a growth lead to own education as a high-impact vertical in Mexico. You'll build activation and retention strategies that turn teachers and students into daily users—starting from grassroots engagement and scaling to government partnerships.
Your Mission
Map the education market in Mexico: identify 20+ early adopter teacher communities, validate product-market fit for classroom workflows, and establish baseline activation metrics
Execute first grassroots campaign targeting 500+ teachers in Mexico City with hands-on training, feedback loops, and habit-tracking data
Align cross-functional roadmap (Sales, Marketing, Product, Partnerships) around 3 measurable education growth levers with clear success metrics
Reduce onboarding friction: identify top 3 barriers to sustained teacher adoption and pilot solutions with 100+ pilot users
Scale activation to 5,000+ active teachers with >40% weekly return rate; measure usage depth across classroom workflows
Close 3-5 municipality or education partnership deals demonstrating repeatable playbook for strategic go-to-market
Build repeatable content and activation hub (templates, guides, best practices) that enables organic teacher-to-teacher adoption
Establish education as a compounding acquisition engine: track CAC, LTV, and viral coefficient; prove sustainable unit economics for the vertical

Is This Role For You?
- You've built or scaled a measurable market, vertical, or customer segment from zero and can articulate clear growth levers
- You think in activation, retention, and habit formation—not vanity metrics—and obsess over sustained user behavior
- You're comfortable being hands-on, operating without a rigid playbook, and navigating both grassroots communities (teachers) and strategic stakeholders (government, partnerships)
- You thrive in cross-functional chaos, influence without direct authority, and can align Sales, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships around shared education growth goals
- You're genuinely curious about shaping an undefined vertical and energized by ambiguity and the potential to create a compounding growth engine
- You need remote flexibility or can't commit to on-site work in Mexico City
- You're primarily a demand-gen or top-of-funnel marketer—this role demands deep activation, retention, and habit-loop ownership
- You prefer to execute from a detailed playbook and avoid operating in emerging, undefined markets without clear best practices
- You lack Spanish language skills and can't navigate grassroots teacher and community environments in Mexico with cultural fluency
