What you'll do
Accountabilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive organic social media strategy aligned with marketing, brand, audience, and business objectives.
Manage and optimize the social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other relevant channels.
Create and curate high-quality social content across copy, graphics, photography, and video while maintaining a consistent and distinctive brand voice.
Lead the strategy and execution of short-form video content, including ideation, filming, minor editing, publishing, and experimentation with emerging formats and trends.
Be comfortable appearing on camera when appropriate and help other team members and executives develop effective on-camera content.
Own the executive social media strategy, working directly with senior leaders to develop thought leadership content that reflects their individual perspectives, expertise, and voices.
Monitor social channels and proactively engage with customers, prospects, industry professionals, and the broader nonprofit community to strengthen relationships and brand loyalty.
Serve as a knowledgeable social media ambassador, responding appropriately to public inquiries and communicating the organization's mission, offerings, and values.
Track, analyze, and report on social performance metrics, using insights to optimize content, engagement strategies, and overall channel performance.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional contributors to ensure social initiatives are delivered effectively and aligned with organizational priorities.
Partner with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to identify opportunities for social storytelling, campaigns, customer engagement, and brand growth.
Participate in crisis communications activities by monitoring public sentiment, identifying potential risks, and supporting appropriate mitigation efforts.
Stay current on social media trends, emerging platforms, AI capabilities, content formats, and audience behaviors, proactively introducing innovative ideas and experiments.
Continuously test new concepts and approaches to increase reach, engagement, thought leadership, and brand differentiation.
Requirements
5+ years of professional social media experience, including at least 2 years developing executive thought leadership content for social channels, ideally within a B2B or SaaS environment.
Strong knowledge of major social platforms, including LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, as well as social media management platforms such as Sprout Social or Buffer.
Experience with paid social advertising is a plus.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to adapt messaging to different audiences and platforms.
Strong visual storytelling and creative skills, with experience using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design platforms.
Experience with video editing tools such as OpusClip, After Effects, or similar applications, particularly for short-form social content.
Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or comparable platforms, with demonstrated ability to use AI to improve ideation, content creation, workflow efficiency, and content optimization while preserving brand voice and quality.
Strong analytical capabilities and experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Sprout Social, LinkedIn Insights, or similar platforms to evaluate social performance and guide decisions.
Proven ability to lead projects and coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution skills and a willingness to experiment with unconventional ideas.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across an organization.
A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred; advanced degrees or digital marketing certifications are a plus.
Deep understanding of the nonprofit sector, including industry trends, audiences, buyer personas, and content strategies, is preferred.
Benefits
Salary range of $74,500-$124,100, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus.
