Title: GTM Engineer
Company: SIG Partners

Firm Overview
SIG Partners is a family-owned holding company that acquires and grows great American businesses.

Job Description
We are scaling our proprietary deal sourcing engine to generate 800K - 1M cold emails per month alongside multi-channel outbound (SEO, Paid Ads, Cold Calling, LinkedIn, direct mail, paid ads). The GTM Engineer owns that channel end to end: deliverability infrastructure, domain and mailbox management, list preparation, sequence deployment, and performance reporting. Your primary focus is the cold email lane, but you will sit inside a broader outbound operation.
You will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, and work cross-functionally with the AI Engineer, BDR, and Business Development leadership. You will be evaluated on deliverability rates, send volume, data quality, and pipeline contribution.
What You Will Own:
Email Infrastructure & Deliverability
Architect and manage the full cold email sending infrastructure to sustain 1M+ sends per month: domains, mailboxes, IP warming, DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and inbox rotation. Own deliverability across all sending domains. Monitor bounce rates, spam trap hits, blacklist status, and inbox placement. Maintain deliverability above 95%. Manage and optimize SmartLead (or equivalent ESP) configuration including sending schedules, warmup cadences, throttling, and A/B sequence testing. Stand up and maintain a domain and mailbox provisioning pipeline that scales with volume targets without manual bottlenecks.
List Preparation & Hygiene
Receive raw contact lists from the AI Engineer and data pipeline, then verify, deduplicate, and segment them into campaign-ready sends. Maintain suppression lists (opt-outs, bounces, existing relationships, portfolio companies, prior respondents) and ensure they propagate across all active campaigns. Flag data quality issues upstream and coordinate with the AI Engineer on fixes. Prepare and QA lists on a weekly cadence aligned to campaign deployment schedules.
Sequence Management & Testing
Build and deploy email sequences in SmartLead based on copy and targeting direction from marketing leadership. Run A/B tests on subject lines, send times, body copy, and sequence structure. Manage reply handling workflows so positive responses route to the BDR cleanly and promptly. Pause, adjust, or kill underperforming sequences based on real-time performance data.
Reporting
Deliver weekly reporting on send volume, deliverability, open rates, reply rates, positive response rates, and bounce/spam metrics. Surface trends and flag risks (domain reputation degradation, list quality drops, platform issues) before they become problems. Maintain clean records
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing high-volume cold email operations (250K+ sends/month minimum).
- Experience in B2B outbound environments (M&A, private equity, lead generation, or agency side).
- Strong technical knowledge of email deliverability: domain and IP warming, authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), blacklist monitoring and remediation.
- Proficiency with at least one cold email platform at scale (SmartLead, Instantly, Lemlist, Woodpecker, or similar).
- Experience with email verification tools (NeverBounce, ZeroBounce, MillionVerifier, or similar).
- Comfort managing large contact lists including deduplication, segmentation, and suppression logic.
- Detail-oriented operator who can manage dozens of domains and mailboxes without letting things slip.
- Familiarity with ZoomInfo, Apollo, or equivalent B2B data sources.
- Familiarity with Make (Integromat) or similar automation platforms for workflow handoffs.
- Basic comfort with CRM systems (Affinity, HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Experience with MongoDB or SQL for querying contact databases.
- Exposure to AI-assisted copywriting, sequencing, or lead scoring workflows.
Compensation
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: location, experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
