The Challenge

Sage is betting big on Sage Active in France—a market being reshaped by AI and new fintech entrants. You'll own the strategy that defines how we compete, differentiate, and win against players like Pennylane and Regate.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Map and validate target segments, ICPs, and highest-value opportunities in the French SMB market with quantified TAM estimates

2

Define and document category positioning and competitive differentiation vs. Pennylane, Regate, and other key competitors

3

Build and test value proposition messaging with 10+ customer interviews, translating product capabilities into customer outcomes

4

Align Product, Sales, and Marketing teams on messaging architecture and GTM narrative through stakeholder workshops

By 6 Months
1

Launch validated GTM strategy with clear messaging, segment prioritization, and pricing/packaging recommendations

2

Drive measurable impact on pipeline: track how positioning influences win rates and ACV in target segments

3

Influence product roadmap with market insights—deliver 2-3 recommendations backed by customer data that shape next releases

4

Build repeatable competitive intelligence and customer insight cadence; establish quarterly market updates for leadership

Track conversion rates for target ICPs to measure if positioning resonates with priority customers.

Average Contract Value (ACV) Lift

Measure revenue impact of value proposition refinements and packaging changes vs. baseline.

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) Efficiency

Monitor how messaging clarity and targeting precision reduce CAC and improve payback period.

Sales Enablement Adoption

Track sales team usage of messaging frameworks and positioning in calls; measure confidence and consistency.

Competitive Win/Loss Rate

Quantify share of voice and wins vs. named competitors to validate differentiation strategy.

Is This Role For You?

  • You've lived in or deeply understand the French SMB/fintech market and can translate global strategy into local relevance
  • You're a strategic thinker who moves from insight to action fast—not someone who builds decks for decks' sake
  • You thrive at intersections: product strategy + market reality + revenue impact; you speak fluent product AND sales language
  • You have 5+ years shipping positioning, GTM strategy, or product strategy in SaaS/fintech with proven commercial outcomes
  • You get energized by ambiguity and ownership—this is not a templated PMM role
Won't Work If
  • You need full remote flexibility—this is 3 days/week on-site non-negotiable
  • You're looking for a hands-on execution role; this is strategic direction-setting with teams driving execution
  • You don't have direct fintech/SaaS PMM or strategy experience—the learning curve is too steep for the pace expected
