The Challenge
Thales is a global defense and aerospace giant investing €4B annually in R&D. You'll own visual communication strategy for their critical infrastructure networks division, creating assets that explain complex defense tech to military and enterprise audiences.
Your Mission
Master Thales' visual identity system and defense sector communication standards across print, digital, and event channels
Deliver 8-10 campaign assets (social graphics, web banners, event signage) for Q1 product launches and trade shows
Build workflow processes with internal marketing teams and external agencies; establish asset delivery timelines
Create 3-5 infographics that translate technical satellite/network concepts into clear, accessible visuals
Lead visual design for 2+ major industry events/trade shows with full collateral kits (templates, decks, print materials)
Develop reusable communication templates and design system documentation for the NIS business line
Produce 15+ social content pieces monthly across LinkedIn, with tracked engagement metrics
Mentor junior designers on technical illustration best practices; establish design QA process with 95%+ first-pass approval

Asset Delivery Velocity
Track turnaround time from brief to final approval; target 5-7 business days for standard requests.
Campaign Asset Usage Rate
Measure how many designs you create are actually deployed across channels vs. rejected/reworked.
Social Engagement Rate
Monitor CTR, shares, and comments on visual content you design; benchmark against industry average for B2B defense sector.
Stakeholder Satisfaction Score
Quarterly feedback from internal teams on design quality, responsiveness, and creative problem-solving (target: 4.2/5).

- You don't speak fluent French; internal stakeholder communication is primarily FR
Interview Process
Initial Screening

Design Brief Challenge
Take-home assignment: create 2-3 assets (social graphic, infographic, web banner) based on a sample defense/tech brief
Portfolio & Process Interview
1-hour in-person discussion at Gennevilliers: walk through design decisions, tools, collaboration style, and how you'd explain technical concepts visually
Team Meeting
Meet with 2-3 marketing team members and potential peers; discuss project workflow and team fit
