The Challenge

Nintendo of America is looking for a retail marketing leader to drive brand engagement across the Americas for iconic franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Animal Crossing. You'll own campaign launches, retail partnerships, and omnichannel strategies that move hardware and games at scale.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit current retail marketing programs and identify 3-5 quick wins to improve campaign ROI and retailer alignment

Map team capabilities and gaps; establish clear performance baselines for retail marketing KPIs

Build stakeholder map with key retail partners and internal teams; align on Q2-Q3 launch calendar

4

Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership on emerging retail channels and tech opportunities

By 6 Months
1

Launch 2-3 major national campaigns (hardware or franchise-specific) with measurable lift in retail conversion and awareness metrics

Develop and operationalize a retail performance dashboard tracking sell-through, foot traffic impact, and campaign attribution by retailer

Scale successful digital-at-retail initiatives across top 10 retail accounts; document playbooks and ROI

Lead team through mid-year performance review cycle; identify and onboard top performer or backfill underperforming roles

Campaign Sell-Through Lift

Percentage increase in hardware/game unit sales during retail marketing campaign windows vs. baseline periods.

Retailer Engagement Score

Composite measure of retail partner satisfaction, co-op participation, and program adoption across top accounts.

Digital-at-Retail Penetration

Percentage of retail locations actively running in-store digital or interactive marketing programs.

Campaign ROI (Media Spend to Revenue)

Direct attribution of marketing spend (TV, print, online, digital) to incremental retail sales revenue.

Team Retention & Development

Internal promotion rate and engagement scores for managed retail marketing team members.
