What you'll do
The Senior Manager of Digital Marketing leads the digital marketing strategy across B2C, B2B, Fundraising, and Events, ensuring a cohesive, data-driven approach that supports brand awareness, customer acquisition, engagement, and revenue growth. This role provides strategic oversight across all digital tactics, while partnering closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, and proven people leadership.
Position Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead, guide, and mentor a team of six (five direct reports and one indirect) across paid media, SEO, website management, email, social media, and PR
- Own digital marketing budgets and forecasts
- Ensure timely and effective execution of initiatives
- Review and approve team deliverables to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and performance goals
- Maintain team process documentation, workflows, and operational best practices
- Manage administrative responsibilities, including timecards, PTO, budget approvals, and reconciliations
- Develop and evolve digital marketing strategies with a focus on customer acquisition, engagement, brand awareness, and revenue growth
- Guide SEO strategy to adapt to changes in the search landscape, including evolving user behavior and AI‑driven search experiences
- Provide strategic leadership for national and regional paid media initiatives across search, programmatic and paid social
- Provide email and lifecycle marketing strategy support to ensure alignment with business and engagement goals
- Ensure strong integration between PR and organic social strategies to amplify reach, visibility and engagement across channels
- Oversee the invent.org website, including page layouts and UX recommendations, to align with best practices and improve the user experience
- Manage website update requests across departments by coordinating with internal web support and external development partners
- Own digital tracking and reporting by managing relationships with IT and external vendors
- Analyze digital performance across channels and present key insights, trends, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including education, sales, fundraising, events, IT, and reporting to ensure cohesive and effective digital support across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related field
- 8-10+ years of digital marketing experience with progressive responsibility across multiple audiences and objectives
- 4+ years of management experience
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and solve complex problems
- Supportive leadership style grounded in emotional intelligence, trust, and accountability, with the ability to balance high performance standards and organizational goals
- Proven experience collaborating across departments and managing stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven, results-oriented approach
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Agile, test‑and‑learn mindset with comfort adapting to change
- Proven ability to manage and optimize large budgets
- Energetic, adaptable, and passionate about digital marketing and team leadership
- Hands‑on experience with platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Moz, Hootsuite, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar tools preferred
- Ability to regularly work in the office and attend in-person meetings
- Ability to communicate effectively via email, chat, phone, and in-person meetings
