What you'll do
The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role is responsible for curating engaging storytelling from creation to execution across digital platforms, including email, app, and web. This role will create and execute the strategy, measure our promotional email campaigns, and expand our content offering for our HDFC brands on web and app via CMS systems. This role will also plan and execute paid media buys and assist in the management of vendor relations.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines
- Develop and execute integrated digital marketing campaigns across website, mobile app, email, and paid advertising channels to drive ticket sales, engagement, and brand awareness
- Manage and optimize digital ad spend, ensuring campaigns meet KPIs and deliver strong ROI
- Utilize audience segmentation and retargeting strategies to engage existing and potential fans
- Stay ahead of emerging trends and work closely with vendors and agency partners to recommend new paid media opportunities
- Develop audience segmentation and personalization strategies to enhance fan engagement and ticketing revenue
- Partner with Business Intelligence team to track, analyze, and report on digital and email performance, making data-driven recommendations to improve results
- Oversee content strategy and execution for the Club’s website and mobile app, ensuring an optimized user experience
- Manage the CMS system, updating and maintaining high-quality content for ticketing, promotions, and fan engagement
- Work with the creative and production teams to ensure digital assets consistently align with brand standards and meet platform best practices for owned and paid channels
- Measure and report performance of all paid media, email, and website campaigns, assessing against key business objectives
- Continuously test and optimize campaigns to improve efficiency and effectiveness, identify trends and insights, and adjust strategies accordingly
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Media, or related field
- 2-5 years demonstrated experience in digital marketing, paid media, or performance marketing, preferably in sports or entertainment
- 1-3 years experience using content management systems for web/mobile app content
- Strong experience managing paid campaigns across Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and other digital platforms
- Proven expertise in email marketing – knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus
- Solid knowledge and use of measurement tools, including website analytic tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Demonstrated attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, ability to manage change and balance competing/evolving priorities
- Proven experience simultaneously managing multiple projects and timelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) required; working knowledge of Adobe Suite (e.g. Photoshop) helpful
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including home matches, evenings, weekends, and some holidays as needed
- Strategic thinker and self-starter with ability to execute high-impact digital marketing strategies
- Analytical and data-driven with ability to interpret performance data and optimize accordingly
- Creative and detail-oriented with strong eye for branding, visual content, and storytelling
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and meet short deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective collaboration and communication across departments and with external partners
- Passion for sports and fan engagement, with understanding of soccer culture and fan behavior a plus
