The Challenge
Austin PBS is a mission-driven public media powerhouse reaching 100K+ community members yearly. You'll own video production that fuels on-air promotions, membership campaigns, and digital content across four channels—working directly with their Marketing Video Producer to ship real broadcast materials.
Your Mission
Master Avid/Premiere workflows and deliver 8-10 polished show promo edits that air on-station
Own monthly co-branding spot production pipeline, cutting 15+ spots for on-air and digital use
Build sizzle reels for 3-4 flagship shows with measurable engagement metrics post-launch
Develop portfolio-ready case study documenting campaign promo creation from shoot to broadcast
Lead end-to-end video production for 2+ major membership or development campaigns (shoot through final edit)
Establish editing templates and workflows that cut internal production time by 20%
Produce 30+ edited assets across formats (on-air, YouTube, social, email) with documented performance
Mentor incoming interns or junior editors on Austin PBS editing standards and best practices
KPIs You'll Own
Videos Delivered On-Time
Percentage of assigned edits completed by deadline to support on-air broadcast schedule.
Asset Performance
Engagement metrics (views, clicks, shares) on edited promotional content across channels.
Production Efficiency
Time-to-completion per edit type, benchmarked against station averages.
Stakeholder Feedback
Internal feedback scores from Marketing team and producers on edit quality and communication.

Is This Role For You?
- You're a student or recent grad eager to ship real video content that airs on broadcast television
- You're proficient in Premiere Pro and/or Avid and can jump into production immediately
- You thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and you can turn around edits quickly
- You want portfolio pieces you can show potential employers—this gives you on-air broadcast credentials
- You need remote flexibility—this is locked to in-person Tuesday/Thursday, full stop
- You're unwilling to learn legacy tools like Avid (Premiere alone may not cut it here)
- You lack concrete video editing experience or a portfolio to back up your skills
