The Challenge

Unbound is solving AI security for enterprises-the bottleneck keeping millions from adopting safe AI. As founding growth engineer, you'll own the entire GTM engine: experiments, outbound, events, product-led growth. You're not managing a team; you're building the playbook.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Launch and execute 3 measurable GTM experiments (outbound warm/cold, event-driven, or product-led) with clear conversion funnels tracked in HubSpot

2

Audit and operationalize all revenue-critical workflows: calendar triage, email delegation, and deal velocity tracking for board/enterprise conversations

3

Build 2-3 automated lead nurture sequences (Clay + Zapier + HubSpot) for warm outbound and event follow-up, targeting 40%+ engagement rates

4

Shadow 10+ enterprise sales conversations and produce playbook doc identifying top 3 objection patterns and proof points needed

By 6 Months
1

Scale winning GTM experiment to 50+ qualified leads/month with <$50 CAC; establish monthly growth reporting cadence for founders

2

Own full event strategy: select 2-3 high-intent conferences, manage logistics, and deliver 20+ qualified pipeline per event

3

Build SEO content calendar targeting 5 high-intent keywords; publish 4 gated assets and measure lead attribution

4

Transition into specialized role (AE, CS lead, or growth ops) based on performance; mentor next growth hire if brought in

KPIs You'll Own

Monthly Qualified Pipeline

Total SQLs (Sales Qualified Leads) generated across all GTM channels, tracked by source and weighted by close probability.

CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost)

Total GTM spend divided by new customers acquired; benchmark against LTV to ensure unit economics stay positive.

Experiment Velocity

Number of GTM hypotheses tested per month; measure speed of learning vs. output quality.

Outbound Conversion Rate

% of cold/warm outreach that converts to first meeting; target 5-10% depending on segment.

Event ROI

Pipeline generated from events divided by total event spend; measure quality of attendees and follow-up close rates.

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You've spent 1-3 years in high-intensity environments (early-stage startup, consulting, SDR/BDR) and thrive on chaos
  • You're obsessive about systems, follow-through, and closing every loop-nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
  • You're comfortable moving between tactical execution (automations, outbound) and strategic thinking (GTM playbooks, board prep)
  • You've shipped something fast (product, process, experiment, community) and want to do it again in a revenue context
  • You're hungry to specialize into a exec role (AE, CS, or ops) and want a startup that will let you prove it in 6 months
Won't Work If
  • You need a 9-to-5, remote-first lifestyle-this is on-site SF with unpredictable founding-team hours
  • You want to 'just focus on marketing'-this role is 40% marketing, 40% ops/admin, 20% sales and product strategy
  • You're not comfortable with ambiguity and will freeze if the playbook isn't pre-written; you need to improvise fast

Interview Process

1

Initial call with founder or Head of Sales

Discuss your GTM background, prior growth experiments, and hunger for early-stage chaos. Expect product demo and market questions.

2

Technical / execution exercise

Design a 30-day GTM experiment (outbound, event, PLG, or SEO) with hypothesis, success metrics, and tooling stack.

3

Ops / systems deep-dive

Walk through how you'd set up HubSpot automations, calendar triage, and deal velocity tracking for a high-touch sales org.

4

Founder round

Meet 1-2 co-founders; discuss vision, culture, your 6-month growth plan, and potential specialization path.
