The Challenge
IHG Hotels & Resorts needs a hands-on technical leader to architect and optimize their customer communication engine across email and mobile channels. You'll own the SFMC platform strategy while mentoring developers and driving measurable improvements in campaign performance and deliverability.
Your Mission
Audit current SFMC architecture, identify technical debt, and document best practices across Content Builder, Journey Builder, and Automation Studio
Establish code review standards and implement AMPscript/SSJS quality gates with the developer team
Optimize 5-10 high-volume email templates for performance, personalization, and mobile rendering
Onboard and mentor junior developers on SFMC fundamentals and IHG's email development workflows
Lead redesign of email template codebase to modular, reusable architecture across campaigns
Reduce email delivery issues by 40% through Inbox Monster monitoring and rendering optimization
Architect and deploy 3-5 complex, multi-channel customer journeys in Journey Builder with measurable lift in engagement
Build comprehensive SFMC documentation and internal knowledge base to reduce onboarding time and support tickets

Email Delivery Rate
Track inbox placement and rendering quality across clients, targeting 98%+ deliverability.
Campaign Performance Lift
Measure open rate, click rate, and conversion improvements from personalization and segmentation optimizations.
Development Velocity
Monitor time-to-launch for new campaigns and template builds as code quality and team efficiency improve.
Team Capability Score
Assess junior developer skill progression and certification completion against mentorship goals.

- You have 4+ years hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience and genuinely enjoy writing clean AMPscript and SSJS code

- You want to own a strategic platform at a global scale with millions of daily communications
- You're based in or willing to relocate to Guadalajara, Mexico for on-site work
- You're looking for full remote work—this is 100% on-site in Mexico
- You prefer pure strategy over hands-on technical execution; this role is heavily code-focused
- You lack Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications or equivalent deep SFMC experience—the bar is high
