The Challenge

Upbound Group (NASDAQ: UPBD) powers 2,300+ retail locations and digital channels for underserved customers across Acima, Brigit, and Rent-A-Center. You'll architect retention programs that convert customers into advocates using first-party data, sophisticated segmentation, and omni-channel orchestration at scale.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Master Zeta Marketing Platform and Rent-A-Center's CDP; build 5+ SQL-driven audience segments aligned with lifecycle stages

2

Launch and optimize 3 multi-channel retention campaigns (email, SMS, push, direct mail); achieve baseline engagement and conversion KPIs

3

Establish QA workflows, compliance checklists, and deliverability best practices; ensure zero campaign deployment failures

4

Document audience creation processes and campaign templates to enable faster iteration and cross-team collaboration

By 6 Months
1

Own full lifecycle journey mapping; design and execute 8+ A/B and multivariate tests to lift retention and customer advocacy metrics by 10%+

Scale personalization across multi-brand portfolio using dynamic content and AI-assisted workflows with human-in-the-loop controls

Build automated triggered campaigns (behavioral, transactional, promotional) that run with minimal manual intervention

4

Drive 20%+ improvement in campaign deployment speed and quality; consolidate ad hoc reporting into automated dashboards for stakeholders

KPIs You'll Own

Campaign Engagement Rate

Open, click, and conversion rates across email, SMS, push, and direct mail channels; track lift vs. control.

Retention Cohort Uplift

Month-over-month and year-over-year retention lift by segment; measure impact of retention programs on customer lifetime value.

List Health & Deliverability

Bounce rate, spam complaint rate, unsubscribe rate; ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR/CCPA, TCPA/10DLC standards.

Campaign Deployment Accuracy

Percentage of campaigns deployed on-time and error-free; measure QA efficiency and process improvement gains.

Audience Segmentation Precision

Segment accuracy validated via SQL query audits and A/B holdback testing; measure personalization lift.

  • You've shipped 10+ lifecycle/CRM campaigns and can articulate why one outperformed another with data
  • You're fluent in SQL segmentation logic and comfortable debugging audience counts before deployment
  • You obsess over deliverability, compliance, and list hygiene—SPF/DKIM/DMARC aren't buzzwords to you
  • You thrive in omni-channel environments (email + SMS + push + direct mail + in-app) and love translating business asks into technical execution
  • You want to grow retention metrics at massive scale across a public company serving millions of customers
Won't Work If
  • You're new to CRM/lifecycle marketing or prefer more strategic/creative work over hands-on execution and QA
  • You're not comfortable with SQL, complex segmentation logic, or deep technical troubleshooting
  • Remote work is non-negotiable; this role requires 5 days on-site in Plano, TX
